Hi team, we appreciate the growing interest this idea's gaining and want you to know our product teams are very attuned to our customers desire for a bank feed for CAF bank.

We're continuing to work closely with our third party integrators to make more bank feeds available via open banking. A feed for CAF is high on our agenda, however we're reliant on third party integrators to support this integration in order for us to deliver this for you all.

I want to assure you we're pushing for it's integration, but we cannot commit or confirm a timeline for this work to be undertaken.

As soon as there's progress to share we'll happily provide further updates for you all.

On Thursday last week someone posted this which suggests we are wasting time trying to get Xero to take action - CAF needs to change its interface and we should canvas them:

"...In the UK, Xero supports direct API connections provided via Open Banking. CAF Bank offers connection through Modified Customer Interface (MCI), which is less secure and convenient than a direct API connection.

The Financial Conduct Authority has proposed the mandatory use of API connections for banks and is planning to phase out MCI in the future.

Xero doesn't have any plans to connect to banks that use MCI, as their preference is to use a direct API connection as it provides additional security...."

    Hi Xero,
It’s quite a while since we heard back from you as to whether you’ll progress the bank feed with CAF. Our trustees are going to make a decision in the next three months about switching software packages, so it would be good to hear soon whether this auto bank feed will happen anytime soon or at all.

    Many thanks

Alongside an integrated feed, is it also possible to have some choice over the format of your spread sheets that can be downloaded. Before the system change, when downloaded these appeared with beginning of the month at the top annd end of the month at the bottom I.e. 01/04/24…..30/04/25. In addition they had debit and credit columns which were helpful for preparing the accounts.

Now when you open the downloaded cvs sheet, the newest date is at the top, I.e. 30/04/25 and the oldest date at the bottom (01/04/25) and there is no debit column - just one column with both credits and debits.

I could probably live without the debit column being changed but having the transactions back to front is so annoying as every single transaction has to be reordered individually (order of all can be done in a couple of strokes but then it isn’t in the order on the statements, which makes reconciliation more complex.

We have wanted to integrate CAF bank and Xero for the last two years as this is critical to managing our accounts as we are all voluntary and have to do this in our spare time. Manual uploading of bank statements and transactions takes hours - integrating CAF and Xero would save us hours and hours, so please implement an integration for CAF bank ASAP so that we can move away from manual uploading and be much more efficient. If this is not done soon, we will have to move to an alternative software that is already integrated with CAF bank.
