Hi community, thanks for continuing to engage, and sharing your needs in adding more layers to your chart of accounts structure.

We know especially for some of our US customers that this can sometimes be a show stopper in using of Xero.

Right now, we do have a product team that have begun exploring the efforts that'd be required to implement a change of this nature - while we can't commit to any development at this point we'll share any progression with you all here. Thanks

I have run into a brick wall in my accounting without the use of sub accounts. As a general contractor, it's essential for me to have sub accounts.

I need to be able to have an account for income from each project, and see the total income for the year in a parent account. I need to be able to run a report that includes the total costs for the project, and my income, to match it to my bank draws.

If I only have one account for contracting income, I cannot run a report with project hard costs, that also include contracting income with a single tracking category.

I've loved Xero for years now, but this is mind-blowingly frustrating to not have this. Please add this ability very soon.
