Re-iterating that to be able to message other staff/advisors/managers who working on our Xero account would be very helpful

This would be very helpful. Assignable notes to accountants and other users, and also option for individual users to make notes on homepage that aren't necessarily seen by other users of that organisation.

Hearing the different ways our customers would find tasks on the new homepage experience most useful is really valuable. Thanks for sharing your interest in being able to attach files with us here.
Right now, our product teams are considering all the feedback we're receiving from our customers on this new experience, and we will share if there are any updates for this with you.

A tick-able task list (like Apple Notes) would be super helpful. Or even just a note space to leave messages/tasks for other users.
