Hi everyone, thanks for your continued feedback about managing working patterns for part-time employees.

We’re pleased to share that we plan to begin rolling out working patterns in AU Payroll later this year.

The first release will allow you to set a one-week work pattern for each employee. This pattern will automatically be used for leave and public holiday calculations in the pay run. At this stage, you’ll still need to update the employee’s pay template separately to reflect their standard working hours.

We plan to build on this foundation by connecting working patterns with standard hours in the pay run and supporting a broader range of working patterns. We’ll share more details as the first release gets closer.

Xero please look to address and bring in a solution to this in ASAP.

We have the same issue where as a small business we have offered FULL TIME staff a benefit of Flexible Working Arrangements to take an RDO over a fortnight. So they work 9 days of 8.44 hours and have a day off on the 10th day. However, for annual leave and public holidays it doesn't work it out correctly as it is automated to utilise and accrue 10 days 7.6 hours each day. It's very frustrating and time consuming to adjust each staff pay run individually. This would be very helpful to have the option for Xero to work it out automatically instead of having to do manually, its making us question offering this benefit due to the complexities and also using Xero or switching to an alternative platform.
