Hi everyone, thank you all for your support and engaging to let us know the importance and use you'd have in being able to receive bank feeds for Charities Aid Foundation(CAF) bank.

We're pleased to share that our provider Tink is building this at present and we're currently testing with a small group of users.

We appreciate your interest, and look forward to getting this in your hands soon. I'll be back to share more news as things progress. Thanks

I am glad to see this is finally marked as On Development.

Is it a coincidence that this only happened when I posted below what I was told about this over a month ago

Please keep this group (who are understandably frustrated) updated on progress.

We have been waiting more than a year since the CAF upgrade which made this possible.

    Thank you

I think both parties are blaming the other.

Xero said the standard way to create the connection is for an independent body called Tink to create the connection. Xero cannot control what Tink does or when.

Here is a quote from Xero

"To be as transparent as possible, Xero's method of enabling and maintaining bank feeds (in the UK specifically) relies predominantly on our feed provider, Tink. I can confirm that just earlier today [11June] we did receive a response from Tink to advise that while there's no definite timeframe still, Tink are working on building this feed for CAF Bank - I myself am unsure on the technical requirements involved in building the feed at their end but the process has certainly begun from Tink's end."

However Xero also told me that CAF could create their own connection. Here is another quote from Xero

"For most UK-based financial institutions, we use the OpenBanking API feed type provided through Tink, and in instances where Xero receives high demand/feedback around creating a feed for a bank we don't currently have a feed for, Xero highlights this demand to Tink to advocate for this new feed to be created. The only alternative to building an OpenBanking feed via Tink would be for the bank to create their own bank feed integration with Xero however, CAF Bank would need to approach us directly if this is something they'd be willing to begin work on."

I have asked CAF if they will do this but I have not had a reply.

So we wait and wait and wait......

Lisa Keenan on 9 June said Xero is blaming CAF for the wrong type of feed (MCi not API).

I queried with CAF who said it is using API.

    See response below.

So Xero Please just get on with it.

"Thank you so much for your email and for taking the time to get in touch. I’d like to confirm that we are indeed using the correct API for this process. We’ve previously been in contact with Xero, and, following their guidance, we’re currently sharing the link below with customers who use Xero and are interested in connecting to CAF:

    https://productideas.xero.com/forums/967136-banking-chart-of-accounts/suggestions/49496570-bank-feed-charities-aid-foundation-caf

By sharing this link, we’re encouraging customers to register their interest in establishing a connection between Xero and CAF. The more customers who express their interest, the more likely it is that this integration will move up Xero’s priority list."
