    Hi team, we appreciate the interest in this idea and how having a record of changes to a users permissions would be helpful as an audit in your Xero organisation.

    While this history event isn't in our immediate plans, we are closely considering how and what changes we record history for as we continue to develop parts of Xero.

    For the time being we are continuing to keep a watchful eye on the support in this here, and I will make sure to share if there is any news of this for you all here.

    How is an audit trail for changes to users permission still not considered important for an accounting system in 2026? We are 6 months on from Xero's last response and customers still want this feature as it seems internal operational problems are presenting for a few businesses. This chain goes back years and yet this simple issue has not had any development time allocated by Xero team. The importance of an aduit trail should not be lost on a company that desgns accouting software/apps
