    Hi everyone, thanks for your continued feedback about managing working patterns for part-time employees.

    We’re pleased to share that we plan to begin rolling out working patterns in AU Payroll later this year.

    The first release will allow you to set a one-week work pattern for each employee. This pattern will automatically be used for leave and public holiday calculations in the pay run. At this stage, you’ll still need to update the employee’s pay template separately to reflect their standard working hours.

    We plan to build on this foundation by connecting working patterns with standard hours in the pay run and supporting a broader range of working patterns. We’ll share more details as the first release gets closer.

    I have been working with MYOB Acumatica where we set up a work Calander for those staff that work various hours and shorter days - might be annoying to set them up but they work extremely well and taken plus accrued leave works perfectly. We are now moving to Xero where I believe AP & AR works well, but I am very concerned that there are no work patterns to accommodate these variations, saying we need to do manual adjustments is very archaic. If this is already available in the UK, then why is it not available here in Australia. This needs to be brought up to a priority.
