    Thanks team, we really appreciate you describing your needs in allowing staff to raise and manage purchase orders without opening up supplier bills and broader financial information.

    Right now, we’re developing a dedicated Purchase Orders Only role, that'll give you more granular controls for purchase orders - You'll be able to give your users access while keeping access to your bills separate.

    Your feedback here has ben valued in helping us evolve our permissions in the product.

    More granular user access is absolutely needed in Xero, ability to only create purchase orders that can then be approved by a manager is a fundamental part of any good financial controls policy. This should also for for the ability to create, approve and pay bills. I need to delegate the payments to one individual but this should not be the same person who approved the payment.
