    I have just found this thread after searching for how to auto-fill the reference field in batch payments. Over two years after this was suggested it is apparently 'moving to 'Gaining Support' - that was 6 months ago. I hereby wholeheartedly support this idea, but am also a bit flabbergasted that this sort of simple time-saving functionality has not yet been implemented.
