  1. This is an extremely basic feature that must be fixed (in my opinion, a bug). If I create a NEW invoice, but then do not approve it or save it as a draft, and simply close the browser or the session times out) the invoice number that had been temporarily allocated to this invoice is now lost. The next time I open Xero and input a new invoice, it skips that number and uses the next number. This is ridiculous behaviour as consecutive invoice numbers are critical to many companies.

  2. It would be better is the invoice reference could allow for input of longer names, without scrolling, so it's all on one line on the invoice.
    Currently, the invoice number character length and the invoice reference character length are the same, which seems odd, as usually the invoice number is just a few characters, but the invoice reference can be long (project name, case name etc)

  3. I use Xero Me to upload expense receipts and assign to a client. I rename the photo of the receipt so that it should be traceable. The expenses are then visible when I create an invoice for that client. All good so far, however, there are two things that could be improved:

    1. There is no option to add the receipt file to the invoice when the expenses are added. Very often clients want to see the original invoice when expenses are charged back at cost.

    2. The expense files are saved in the fie library, however, the names I have given…

  4. Hi i can't believe you don't have a POS app tablets for use in cafes and shops. a quick google api for databasing while offline and it would be solid as. you only need to support a handful of thermal printers and cash draws. just look what vend is doing. it would be a huge product if deployed correctly

    Hi Douglas, while we don't have a POS app ourselves you'll find Xero integrates with many different POS solutions, including Vend. You can explore the range of these on our App store

    We don't have any immediate plans for expanding into this area atm, but we'll keep tracking the interest of this here and share if there's any plans made. Thanks

  5. In the "New version of Invoicing" disappeared an amazing function - when you open an invoice after it has been approved, it always displays as tax exclusive, even if you entered it as tax inclusive. In the new version if you approved an invoice tax inclusive it ONLY shows it as tax inclusive. Can you please add the feature of seeing both versions of the same invoice.

  7. Can we add a function to import purchase order from excel file? We have had it as import bill already, but it is not enough because we need to use the PO function in Xero. However, it is time consuming and many mistakes due to manually entering our PO. It would be great if we can import from excel for both bill and PO function.

    You can only create credit notes to Invoices or Bills if these aren't marked as paid on Xero, or by creating them as new items from contacts or using upload via Hubdoc.

    I think it would be beneficial to allow the creation of credit notes from bills or invoices that are already paid. Very often, there is a requirement for a credit note to be created when the bill/invoice is already paid. Adding the feature to allow creating credit notes based on the information already recorded on paid bills/invoices would save a lot of time in dealing with creating…

    Hi Wojciech, if an invoice or bill has already been paid there is no amount left outstanding for the invoice. It sounds like you'd like the ability to easily copy the detail of an invoice to a credit note? I've slightly updated the title of your idea here, for this. 

    If this doesn't quite reflect it'd be great to get more detail of scenarios you'd in which your business receives a credit note for a completely paid invoice or bill.

  10. Currently, to invoice from a quote = a standard invoice. There needs to be an option to create an repeating invoice also. This is consistent with the request to change a standard invoice into a repeating invoice also.

The ‘fresh new look’ you have decided to give invoice emails is garish and on the verge of being offensive/pushy - WE ARE NOT A FAN! - and we have been told that this cannot be adjusted!!!!!!!!!!! - REALLY!!!!!!???? - not impressed!!!!! - give the option to amend this or put it back to as it was, please!!!

  17. It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

    In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

  18. Please implement a feature allowing users to add billable expenses assigned to Projects directly to an existing draft invoice.

    Currently, users can only add billable expenses directly to a draft invoice if the expense is assigned to a Customer. When expenses are assigned to a Project, they can only be invoiced through Projects. This causes issues when an expense assigned to a Project is has been missed, and needs to be added to the draft invoice. The current workaround requires deleting the draft invoice and starting the invoicing process again, which is time-consuming and inefficient.

  20. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library.
