  1. We enter bulk bills into the system and can only attached a copy of the invoice after authorised. To upload these signed invoices are time consuming having to open each bill and then drag or attached the copy invoice.

    It would save us so much time if these invoices could be attached directly to the bills in purchase overview instead of having to open every bill.

    Hi team, appreciate it's been a while since this was first raised here. Recently we released some changes to the list view of bills where you can now 'Quick view' your bills from the list view without having to open each individually.

    You'll find by clicking on the eye icon in the list it'll open up a side view of the bill where you can also add attachments 😊

  2. Could you add Invoice preview to Mobile app. This service is available on the main invoice page so it should be easy to add to the mobile app. It is standard with a lot of mobile app software payment systems

    Hey Paul - thanks for sharing your idea! I've checked with our team and I can confirm that it's possible to preview invoices in-app, as well as previewing the .pdf export. 

    The exception being draft invoices which, consistent with desktop Xero, do not allow a .pdf export.

It would be great if when we were in the reconciliation screen for a bank account and we came across an entry that needed to have a new account added, we would be able to add an account from the reconciliation screen, rather than having to go to the chart of accounts (so, after adding the vendor name in the reconciliation screen, for example, if there was an option when scrolling through accounts to add a new account, that would be great).

    If you click add details from within the Create tab it'll expand the entry window and if you click into the 'Account' field you'll see an option to +Add account 😊

  4. Hi there, we have a suggestion that would help us a lot as we have a lot of tracking categories. Could Xero add a fixed top menu and side menu so that when we scroll up and down we can still see the tracking categories and also what it relates to. Basically freeze the left column with headings and freeze the top column with headings.

    Hi team, with no response we're going to guess this is within reports. If so, with Xero reports you'll find the top row and left column- are now 'sticky', so you can see the headings when scrolling beyond where they'd be displayed. 🙂

  6. The ability to analyse year on year customer revenue by selecting your time frame and comparing across a number of selected years (this is what I would like) or by month / year. Allows to have a quick snapshot on how each customer account is performing and address any obvious loss of custom / sales. A basic analysis report but a highly useful and informative one. The ability to compare in this way exists on Xero for profit and loss but not for customer accounts.

    Appreciate letting us know how we could improve your flow when working from the Xero Accounting app, Joshua. Our team have just released a change for iOS to align with the Android behaviour.

    Now, when you send an invoice or a quote, the 'Send me a copy' field will be unchecked by default.🙂

  8. After saving a payment directly inside an invoice, if the reference field is incorrect, we cannot edit it. We can only remove and redo.

  9. When we search for an item - there only seems to be limited ways of doing this. If more than one item is bundled up in a total then it is impossible to find. Eg. Would be good to find all items of a certain price (net) and then do ID when trying to sort out something or other.

  10. The buttons linking to detailed reports from the project profitability tab don't go to the place they claim. They just take you to a blank report view. Very useless and pretty annoying.     Hi all, leading on from our last update we're going to move this idea to 'Delivered' with the change the team made to Projects in August last year (apologies for the late update here!) You'll now find that all the reports on the profitability tab take you to the report, filtered to the project you were on 🌟

  11. Not quite sure if this is applicable here, but it would be good if there was a newsletter of sorts to announce any new apps that is released on the Xero App Store. It'll be good if there was a update of sorts whenever a new integration for Xero was released, especially for clients who're still looking for the right app to sign up for.

  12. On the newly rolled out quote form, have the ability to change the default 'Send me a copy' when emailing the quote.
    Why would I want to send myself a copy when I have all my quotes available to me directly through Xero?!

    The 'send me a copy' field remembers the last setting used. So, if you untick this for one, it should default to unticked for the next one and following ✅

    Xero has recently partnered with Avalara, a leader in tax automation software, to provide automatic, accurate sales tax calculations on new invoices and simple, state-based sales tax reports to make it easier to prepare for filing.
    This new auto tax feature will apply the tax rate automatically by location which sounds like what you’re asking for 😊  See here for more information, and a demo video.

  14. It would be great if you could add a "New Item" when you first create a transaction. At the moment, you have to save and close the transaction, go back to it and "edit" then you can see +New Item at the top of the Item column. It would be a great improvement to workflow if you could do this straight away and if anyone like me has new items each week it would save some time. Thanks.

  15. Font Size: It would be helpful to increase the default zoom on the invoice view when processing invoices as the print view on invoices become very small and difficult to read without having to zoom in with the plus sign, which again does not enable you to see the whole invoice, which means you have to use the arrow bars. My suggestion would be Xero enables you to drag the invoice to a second screen rather than having to download it every time?

  16. To save on screen real estate, after selecting the item, don't display the description in the "Item" column. This small column wraps the description and takes up much needed screen space, when it is not necessary as the description repeats itself in the very next column "Description"

    Our quotes and invoices can have 40-100 lines of product on them, and after zooming out as much as possible ( but still be able to read the screen), only 14 lines can fit on the screen while in edit mode. This is because in the "Item" column, the item code is displayed,…

  17. We have noticed with 'new' Xero that standard products & services we have set up now print on our quotations with the value of zero under Quantity, Price & Total columns.
    For us, most of these services are just standard statements and do not require a Quantity, Price or Total but we cannot remove the zero's.
    It looks strange on a quotation to include a zero value next to a statement which doesn't refer to values,
    'Old' zero didn't do this and would suggest that new Xero be updated to allow standard paragraphs to be added without values - as…

    Thanks for your feedback, Gail - sorry we've not updated your idea here sooner. The team did make some improvements to Quotes one released. You should find you can now add description only lines that will not show any values if no quantity or price entered.

    Appreciate your input here, Jeffrey and Tom. We’re aware that there was an issue around the time of your post here, where some users are unable to use global search on their Xero Dashboard. But our team has identified and resolved this (see our status page for more information). Sorry for the inconvenience.

    If there’s any widespread issue, we’ll post it on our status, so it’s good for you to check it as a point of reference. And if you still have issues with this, make sure to contact Xero Support so you can get an individual troubleshooting session with them.

    Sorry for not catching your idea here sooner, Tahlia. Appreciate the idea and this was fast to follow the Expense by Contact report. 


    Our report team have now added a chart to rhe Income by Contact report so you can view your top 10 customers the same as you can suppliers from the Expenses by Contact report. 🙂

    Hi community, this is possible for invoices with the use of the discounts column where you'd only enter a discount for particular line items. With new invoicing you'll have the option to enter a discount as either a % or amount. 

    Alternatively if you'd just like Xero to calculate the unit price and not need this shown you could use Xero's inbuilt calculator to enter an equation that'll automatically calculate the price for you based on a given amount. 

    We have a separate thread going for the ability to add discounts to bills (accounts payable invoices) that some of you may like to join for any updates.
