Invoices/Bills - Discount the unit price, not the entire line item
Ability to add a discount for unit price just for a single line item.
Purpose: To save time from manually allowing percentage discounts.
Hi community, this is possible for invoices with the use of the discounts column where you'd only enter a discount for particular line items. With new invoicing you'll have the option to enter a discount as either a % or amount.
Alternatively if you'd just like Xero to calculate the unit price and not need this shown you could use Xero's inbuilt calculator to enter an equation that'll automatically calculate the price for you based on a given amount.
We have a separate thread going for the ability to add discounts to bills (accounts payable invoices) that some of you may like to join for any updates.

Ability to discount the unit amount rather than just the line amount.
E.g. I want to be able to discount a customer $0.08 per litre of fuel purchased. A percentage isn't practical as the unit price is always changing but the discount remains at $0.08, and it's also not practical to have to calculate the total discount amount for the line every time.

Please add a discount colomn to each line in bills or invoices or any thing that will calculate the discount.

Also, and more critical for us, when you copy a purchase order into a bill, the system does show nor does it allows you to display the Discount applied.
It shows:
- Base price, Qty and Amount. Amount is Base price*Qty*discount suggesting funny math, leading to many hours of discussions.
Furthermore, if for any reason the final Bill price for any reason does not match the Purchase order (Special discount/ price change) it is a nightmare to change the Amount to make it match the true bill.Only option is to delete the line all together and retype the whole thing. WASTE OF TIME.
