  1. The Find and Recode appears not to include Projects so where one wants to set the Project name in the invoice or bill field based on, say, the Tracking category (This is what we need to do) there is no option other than to go through every invoice and bill and set it manually.

  3. Xero to xero network - send purchase orders. Want to be able to send my regular supplier a Xero Purchase order via Xero network, who can then create a bill in their Xero, who can then send me their Invoice via Xero network. Would be super helpful given the start of the workflow is typically the purchase order.

Thanks for your idea, Paul. Great to hear you find using the Xero network helpful in your workflow.

We'll gauge the interest from the community in expanding the use of the network to send purchase orders. This isn't something we have plans for at this stage but we'll let you know if there are any updates.

  4. The easiest way to save a document to the Files Inbox is to share it from the device file manager or gallery. However, if an image has been rotated to landscape (e.g. because the image was originally the wrong orientation), saving the image to Files Inbox this way removes the rotation. The Xero Accounting app should preserve the rotation when uploading.

  5. On Xero bills, as well as being able to filter and search for purchase invoices by contact or invoice reference, being able to search by a nominal code would be helpful. For example, making a payment run for all of one type of cost; finding any invoices that have not been allocated properly or for finding amounts that need to be included in management accounts.

  6. For the Annual Financial Statements, it may be useful to include the entity’s registration number directly beneath the entity’s name in brackets — for example:

    The New Company (Pty) Ltd
    (2025/######/07).

This can be applied on both the cover page and in the header for consistency

  7. I would like easier access for entering multiple spend money transactions with a preview screen

    I suggest either;

    1) a separate email to send spend money receipts to like bills have; or

    2) when entering spend money transaction, after clicking save and add another, allow the preview pane to be available after attaching a file so you can still see the details of the receipt when entering (just like the preview is there when you enter a spend money from the files section) otherwise you have to go out of spend money and back to files just so you have…

Thanks for your idea, Katie. Appreciate how you've thought of multiple ways we could help in the process you're after here.

While we'll gain specific interest in being able to change a bill to a spend money from your idea here, I also wanted to highlight this one for being able to set up separate emails in a contact for different transaction types. I've made sure to add your vote to that too so if there are any updates to tackle this from that view you'll be notified, too.

  8. Inventory Item List.

Included in this report is the unit cost which is manually set. Would it also be possible to please add another cost field to the report ? I would like to see the last PO unit cost. Any variance would be used to update the unit cost if in NZD

  9. The highest Xero subscription allows you to make 10 bill payments through Crezco and then you pay a fee per bill. This is a pain, as I now have to approve each 24p fee.

Hi everyone, we’ve seen some good chatter around buying Crezco bill payment fees in batches. For those handling a high volume of transactions, being able to buy fees in bulk would make this process quicker and smoother.

At the moment, Xero doesn’t support batch purchases for bill payment fees, but this idea is now in Gaining Support.

If this sounds like something that would help your workflow, please add your vote or share your thoughts. The more feedback we get, the better we can show the product team how important this is.

We’ll keep you updated here as we learn more.

  10. Xero does not alert you if a customer has a credit that could be applied during batch approval of invoices.

We batch approve and batch email all our invoices; it it is frustrating that we are sending out invoices without credits being applied.

Surely this would be easy to implement?

Have recently had a client complain that the card processing description says 'credit card processing fee' however the client paid with debit card and therefore doesn't think they should have been charged processing fee. This terminology needs to be updated to 'card processing fee' for more transparency.

  13. Add planned pay date automatically as the due date or add a field into the bill entry screen so that you dont have to go back and add it from the bill list view.

Just a suggestion which i think lots of people would find helpful. It would give real time data from the bill screen and saves going into the bill list to add the planned payment date for the categories at the top to populate correctly.

I I believe that this enhancement would be beneficial for many users, as it would definitely save time by reducing the number…

  14. Currently, this process is separate so you have to recreate the sales order as a purchase order to send to a vendor to fulfill. Instead, next to each item on the Sales Order, or at the top to create a single PO for all items, you could create a Purchase Order. This would put the Sales Order in process and save a step.

  15. When there are no payruns for multiple pay runs in a row, please add a feature to allow to reset the pay cycle from a selected date. As it is, if a client doesn't have any pay runs, we need to either post/file the empty pay runs to keep on the pay calendar, or run all future pays as unscheduled pay runs, or set up a new pay calendar. Wouldn't it be great if there was a more simple way to keep on track with pay cycles?! Also, when selecting an unscheduled pay run, please reorder the pay dates so…

  16. “Send via Xero Network” feature in your invoicing system, which have negatively impacted our workflow and client payment behavior.

Since the update, this option now appears at the bottom of the invoice, while the sending process begins at the top. This disjointed placement is not intuitive and often leads to it being overlooked. More importantly, the system does not remember this selection, requiring us to manually enable it every time we send an invoice.

This has had a direct impact on our cash flow. Since the update, we’ve noticed a significant drop in timely payments. Many of our clients rely…

  17. I have entered selling prices excluding GST but have noticed that some personnel have been invoicing inc GST yet xero hasn't adjusted the price of the item to add 10%. I need the item price to be the same either way of invoicing.

Can we make this happen some how ? so the price of the item is the same either way. MYOB manages to adjust it, you just set the price as either including or excluding and it adjusts it automatically when charged out. Maybe Xero should aim to improve this aspect of the program.

Thanks for this suggestion. You're right that currently the tax inclusive/exclusive setting on the invoice would change the overall invoice total.

In the meantime, you might want to tell all staff to enter invoices with the same tax treatment, to avoid accidentally under/overcharging for the same item. If you create all invoices on a tax-inclusive basis, you can enter the default sales price for your items including GST. Otherwise, you would need to enter the prices excluding GST.

  18. Bills - View bills awaiting payment summarised by supplier with the ability to expand supplier to view invoices and select individually or make changes if required.

You need to use the awaiting payment screen to create batch payments. To make payments you have to select each individual invoice for a supplier which takes time and is inefficient.

Having the ability to view the awaiting payment screen showing summary (total) for the supplier would be helpful. You can still filter dates so you can see everything owed to a supplier within date range. Much like an Aged Payables report. You can…

  19. We pay contractors based on sales reports for each contractor. Getting this report is easy. In fact, Xero does that well. However, to get that same report and deduct a % value or any other value to work out what the contractor payment will be. Then being able to save & print & Email that report. Currently, we export to Excel, and whilst that works great, it is fiddly and time consuming. Probably not for everyone, but handy for some.

THi Steven 👋, thanks for raising this idea. We appreciate its not straightforward calculating the percentage of invoices paid to contractors, which we know creates extra manual work. Although this is not on our current roadmap, we will monitor this idea for votes and other comments. However, for now, a workaround would continue to be to export the report and use a spreadsheet application to calculate the percentages. 📈

  20. When entering a new stock item, there isn't an opening to enter opening stock.
We need to create the item first then enter the quantities in an adjustment tab.
It makes sense to make adjustments to items already created, but surely we should be able enter an opening stock value when creating an item, this would save us a lot of time.

Hi, thanks for sharing this idea about setting the opening stock for a tracked item at the same time you add it.

Now it's up to the community to get behind and support your idea with their votes and comments about how this would help them, too.

As for how this is currently done, as well as setting the item's starting Quantity on Hand, there needs to be an accounting record for where the existing Value comes from.

The current process is to add the item(s) as Tracked and then either:

    • Importing the opening balances for your tracked items. *This option is only for when you first start using Tracked Inventory in your organisation*.
    • Entering an approving a Supplier Bill to record the first purchase of the item.
    • Entering an Adjustment (Increase Quantity-type) to move the value from another account (the adjustment account) to the Inventory Asset Account.
  • Don't see your idea?
