Short Term Cashflow - Include repeat transactions
Short Term Cashflow Tool Improvements:
- Able to add recurring money in money out entries
- Able to print Graph and money in/out list to PDF
- Able to review past transactions (old dates)10 votesHey community - the team have been working on the ability to include repeating transactions in Short-term cash flow, and I'm happy to announce that it's being released today 🎉
Since this idea was updated to reflect the first point in the description, I'm switching it over to delivered.
As mentioned in our last update, if you're interested in print/export functionality for Xero Analytics Plus you can add your vote to the idea here
I can’t see any other ideas about the ability to review past transactions but can confirm that's not currently planned. If it’s still important to you feel free to start a new idea for it.

Banking | Account transactions - Show attached files
Whilst reconciling bank transactions it is often useful to look at the account transactions tab. When doing so it would be really nice to see the files link as an entry so you can easily see the transactions associated with a bank transaction
16 votesHi everyone, I wanted to share that the file icon will show against all Account Transactions that have been created with an attachment 📂. Clicking on this icon will allow you to quickly preview the attachments. Invoice/Bill payment transactions will show the file icon when files have been attached to the payment transaction. As this is an Account Transactions list only, to see if the individual invoices/bills have attachments, you can head to the invoice/bills lists.
A separate idea has been raised for the Account Transactions Report to Show Files icon & number attached which you can add your vote to if that’s something else you’d like to see.

Repeating invoices: Ability to copy them to create new ones
Users can copy and create a new repeating invoice from an existing repeating invoice rather than having to copy from an existing approved invoice.
18 votesHi everyone, although not from the template itself you can create a Repeat template from an invoice that has been generated from an existing template.
See more from my note on the idea here.
I've also included an image of what this looks like in the invoice.

Outstanding Credit Notes, Overpayments Prepayments Report
Report to show all open (unallocated) Credit Notes, Overpayments and Prepayments in orginal currency.
5 votesHi everyone, this is actually already possible through the use of the Payable and Receivable Invoice Summary and detail reports.
You can adjust the filters of the report to only select Overpayment, Prepayment and Credit note Source items, as well as set the Status so you only view Draft and Approved items.
Once set up Save as custom, so you can easily access this view anytime. 🙂

New Profit & Loss report - Budget report to show for a full year as actuals and budgets
In the old reports there is a P&L report where you can show at any point in the year the actual monthly figures that have past and then the budgeted monthly figures going forward. I dont think there is currently a way of doing this in the new reports and this is something that clients like to see to show them if they keep going at the budgeted figures what the expected profit or loss will be for the year.
9 votesHi everyone, back again and delighted to let you all know that you'll find a new report that is available in the reports centre and as a common format from the Profit & Loss report called 'Current financial year by month - actual and budget'!
This'll show all the months of the financial year, showing actual figures and your overall budget figures for future months 🙂

Reporting - Compare Tracking Category
When using the new version of the P & L and selecting the Compare Tracking category option, would it be possible to build in a function where the report only shows items with any activity in the selected period, rather than showing everything?
8 votesThanks for your interest in this idea, everyone.
We've made a recent change to the way you can view Tracking in the newer Profit & Loss! We appreciate the efficiency users found in being able to compare tracking across categories with the older reports and have uplifted this in the newer version.
You'll now see the option to ‘Compare by tracking categories’ on the screen when you open the new Profit & Loss.
When selecting tracking categories, if there has not been any activity within your selected report dates you will not see a column for this shown in the results when the report is run - This is part of the releases mentioned last month in “A sneak peek into what’s next for reports in Xero”

Payable invoice detail report - Filter to show "No VAT" transactions
Payable Invoice Detail reports - Ability to Filter VAT Rate Name and VAT Rate (as one can in Receivables)
In the Receivable Invoice Detail Report, the filters include both the "VAT Rate Name" and "VAT Rate". These are not currently available in the Payable Invoice Detail Report, but would greatly assist anyone trying to reconcile the figures in this report with those shown on the VAT Return. As such it is essential to ensure that the figures submitted in Box 7 of the VAT Return are accurate.
2 votesHi team, the Payable Invoice Detail report has filter options for both VAT Rate and VAT Rate Name. Including an option under VAT Rate Name for 'No VAT'

Bank Feed - Connect to existing bank account
If you already have bank accounts setup then you wish to add a bank feed, the bank feed will only create another bank account. It is not possible to merge data or start feeding the data into an existing bank account. The support team has suggested other manual workaround instead.
Please consider adding appropriate functions so for those who have transitioned from other accounting systems and have existing bank accounts or for those who didn't start bank feed right away and would want to do it now to have a much seamless adoption of the function.
Thanks!
4 votesHi team, if you've set up a bank account and decide to connect a bank feed later on this is possible without having to set up a new bank account in your organisation.
If you've set up a bank account that there is a feed available for, you'll see a 'Get bank feeds' option in the widget on your Dashboard.
If this does not appear you may need to Edit Account Details to make sure these have been entered correctly.
Should you have any troubles through the process, you can raise a case with our team of specialists to check in an confirm the process for your bank account.

BAS | Transaction by Tax Rate Report - Add Final Totals Line
Can you please add a final Totals line at the bottom of the BAS Transactions by Tax Rate report on the new BAS showing Gross, GST & Net, like you had for the GST Audit Report as this was very helpful in our reconciliation?

Reporting - Set a default date for the Balance Sheet / P&L
If Xero could remember the last dates you input on the Balance Sheet and P&L, when you are flicking around to other pages it would save having to reenter them every time you go back to those reports. At the moment it seems to choose it's own default, which I think may be last year end.
2 votesHi team, with the ability to create and save custom reports. We'll shift the status of the idea here to Delivered - see our article on how to set up and save a custom report for steps 🙂

AU Payroll | Payroll Activity Detail Report - Export all data to Excel, not just PDF
Currently, when the Payroll Activity Detail report downloads to PDF, it includes deductions (including those that are not salary-sacrificed super) and reimbursements. However, when the Excel report is downloaded, those lines are missing. Please include everything that's in the PDF version in the Excel version.
2 votesHi all, as previously shared both reimbursements and deduction pay items will appear on the PDF and CSV exports of the Payroll Activity Detail report.
If these pay items are visible in the pay run, but aren't pulling through to your reports, please reach out to our support team for some troubleshooting. 😊

Reporting - Ability to have the chosen font size on PDF exports for draft reports
The font size for Xero reports has increased - great - much easier for clients to read their annual accounts. However, when Exporting to PDF from the Draft reports, it previews it in the default size, which is often the wrong size. In order to preview the reports as they will print, you have to publish the report, note where you need to move/add page breaks, then delete the published report and go back into the draft report to make those layout changes. This adds an extra 5 minutes or so on to every job which is not necessary.
Solution…20 votesThanks for the support and interest in this change, everyone. While it may not be obvious, for Xero Partners or staff connected to a Practice there's an option to adjust and change the font size of your reports by selecting 'Styled PDF' when exporting new reports from Xero - Detail here will help in setting & managing your Report Styles.
If not already you use Advisor Connect to find a Xero Partner that can meet your business needs.

Aged Receivables/Payables Detail Report - Running total
We need a running total added within each supplier to these reports as it is very frustrating when trying to balance to supplier statements or allocate a payment.
8 votesHi team, this is possible - Make sure you've added Total as a column to the Aged Payable/Receivable detail report and then Grouping by Contact.
If this is your preferred view for the report, you can save as Custom to select and run in this format whenever you need.

Statement of changes in equity - Default to current year
Changes in Equity Report: When I pull off a Changes in Equity Report for the end of February (2023) how about making the report pull up the report for the year requested rather than the year before? I understand the report has been designed like this so how about changing the design? Or the design team?
1 voteHi Adam, if you'd prefer a different common date format (this financial year) as a default you can set this in the report and save as custom. You can even make this the custom report the default when saving as custom if you'd prefer.

General Ledger Details - Show Account code
I would like to ask Xero if they can put an option in the Detailed General Ledger to allow codes
1 voteHi Leanne, within the newer version of the General Ledger Detailed report you'll find you can include Account Code as a column. 😁See my image below.

Trial Balance - Add tracking columns
Trial Balance - Compare Tracking. Ability to have tracking added to the formats in the same way that you can do for profit and loss in the left hand column. Being able to use the layout editor for trial balance would also be very useful.
2 votesHi community, you'll see we've just released a new General Ledger Summary and Detail reports.
While a slightly different report you'l find you can get what you're asking for here by running the General Ledger Detail report which has an option to include any Tracking categories that you've set up in your organisation as columns in the report. You can also Filter by Tracking too.

Invoices/bills tags
Add a tag feature to invoices/bills, which is only visible internally (not for customers/suppliers) and would allow to run ad hoc reports.
Example - tag sales invoices to sales rep and be able to run reports to see how much revenue that specific sales rep has brought in.1 voteHI Barbara, this is exactly what Tracking in Xero can be useful for. You have 2 tracking categories that can be used for different departments or sectors of your business that you'd like to be able to monitor - find out more here.

New Journal Report - Manual journal search
The old journal report allowed one to search for Manual Journals, the new report does not; it would be invaluable to drill down into the new journal report to search manual journals only :-)
1 voteHi Vanessa, great to hear you're using the new report! 🙂 If you click on the More option in the report you'll see this is an option that can be selected - see my image below.

Reporting some expenses only
I'd like to create some customised reports for particular costs and wondered if there's any option to just report on some costs of the business without having to lump all the other ones somewhere
1 voteYou should find the Blank report can be used to create what you're after here, Mary-Ann.

Journal report - Include account Type and Source
Showing Account Type and Source
1 voteHi Joanne, you can include both Account Type and Source as columns by running the General Ledger Details report which also allows you to view Journal ID 😁
