  1. When a revalued asset is created (e.g. roads in a local government authority), it is essential that a revalued accumulated depreciation is also able to be added at the same time. This is a basic accounting requirement for councils when they revalue their various infrastructure assets.

  2. Turnover per XERO and VAT declared Net Sales should be ideally Equal ,however often may not match and therefore need reconciling-which is important to understand the difference from both the YE accounts and HMRC point of view .

    There should be a report in XERO which can facilitate this reconciliation rather than use spreadsheets -which is time consuming when the information is already existing in XERO

    One of difference arising is -"The Date" invoice created and approved -are different and will report in different periods of the VAT return and Xero Sales Nominal Account

  3. Currently, when a client clicks on "Ask a question" when viewing their invoice. This message is sent to the staff members personal email that created the contact in Xero rather than the delegated email address the organisation has selected in Email settings.

    What if the staff member no longer works at the company or these emails are being missed as they are not sent to the organisations delegated email?

    1. Enable partial sale of assets - allows one to dispose of assets that have been added as one transaction.

    2. Enable bulk sale of assets - allowing one to select all assets involved within a sale to be sold for one purchase price i.e. sale of a fitout of a Hairdresser, over the years they had purchased numerous items and completed numerous renovations.

It would also be helpful if there was something that would show whether an individual transaction has already been included in a VAT return submitted and show which VAT return it was included in. For example in the account transaction report there could be a column that shows which VAT return the transaction was included in. In the individual transaction there could be a note below showing which VAT return it was included in.

  5. Since October 2023 automatic bank feeds with Maybank are not working anymore. Before that, they worked perfectly fine, but since then they are not working, and have not been restored from Xero ever since. As per Support there is a technical problem, and they are working on fixing it for over a year now. So this is not even a new idea, but only the request to restore an important feature that already existed before. Please work harder on fixing this issue!

  6. During reconciling, when adding details - Description section coming from bank feed could be auto-highlighted saving time, allowing it to be changed more easily, rather than having to mouse across to select or (triple tap trackpad). This way if it didn't require a change of description, we can tab across. But having it automatically selected when tabbing through fields would be amazing if possible. eg. of highlighted area attached.

  8. Once a report is published, there's no way to edit the name. I like to add a reference in the publish-name of a report so that I can easily find the specific one that I'm looking for in the list of published reports - especially useful when you're publishing multiple bank account reconciliation reports. Sometimes I forget, and the only way to change the name of a published report is to delete the report and re-create it.

  10. When copying an existing invoice to a new invoice, the reference should not be copied over as well or the user to be given the option to not copy the reference number to the new invoice.

    There are many times, reference number is not updated or removed and then needs to be fixed at a later point.

  11. There's an inconsistency between different parts Xero systems. For example:

    New Invoicing has Autosave.
    New Contacts require us to use the Save button.

    Reports:
    Accounts receivable reports refer to Invoices.
    Accounts Payable reports ALSO refer to Invoices ... Xero terminology for Payables is Bills.

    Is there a reason for these differences and lack of consistency across the Xero platforms?

  12. When transferring money between bank accounts in Xero - it would be good to restrict the user to only making the transfer if there is actually a matching transaction in the other account. As it is currently, the user can make the transfer and then it sits in the unreconciled payments or receipts for a bookkeeper to tidy up later on.

  15. When you have a large number of Tracking category options and you wish to add another, you have to scroll heavily to get to the bottom of the list each time you wish to add another.
    This is not time efficient. The option to add another tracking category option should be at the top of the page for simplicity and time management of the XERO user

  16. A function within Find and Recode that can split code each transaction by a percentage.

    This could be an additional button next to the Recode button called "Split" which brings up a pop-up window like Recode does.

  17. Xero offers users the ability to select between cash-based accounting and accrual-based accounting for financial reports. However, a major problem is that the inventory sales reports are based only on accrual-based accounting. This means the financial reports and inventory sales reports are never consistent. Please add the ability to run cash-based accounting reports for inventory sales (sales by item, etc.).

  18. Greetings,

    Xero offers an outstanding process for depositing Invoices with Awaiting Payments (pictured below). Our business does not use this feature because invoices are paid immediately.

    Why there is no similar process for Paid Invoices (cash)? It seems of utmost importance.

    I believe numerous businesses would benefit greatly from having this feature for Paid Invoices as it will increase efficiency, accuracy, and allow for more streamlined bookkeeping.

    When you say that the invoices are paid immediately, how are they currently reconciled?

    Just trying to better understand how you envision this flow to help you move more efficiently in Xero.

  19. The PST bill that is generated from the report should included the entire PST collected and a second line to the PST commission.
