  1. xero are doing everything possible to not help its customers, I can't email anyone for support, my issue I'm having isn't on the webpage, it says start discussion and doesn't lead me anyway to fill in some details to get a reply, even pretending to be a new customer I can't ask a question, why would anyone buy this without being able to have some questions answered before they buy, really disappointed. been with them for years now, i will be going back to myob.

Hi Peter, I'm sorry to hear the trouble you've had seeking help.

Discussions that you've mentioned finding is a community public forum and not a direct way to seek help from Xero Support. You'll find within the same site, next to the Start a discussion button there is an option to Contact Xero Support

Through this you can raise a cased directly with our team of experts where we have different specialists to assist depending on your needs.

While it's not an inbound phone line, you'll generally find they have quite a quick turnaround and can set up a phone call where needed

Having a response through your case also means you can look back on this and any resources shared at a later time should you run into a similar scenario, again.

I'm going to close your idea here as we don't have plans for an inbound…

  2. I just had a query about where should we upload each supplier's EOM Statement?
It is great that you can upload a copy of a supplier's invoice to each individual bill entry, but what happens at the end of the month when we receive Statements from the suppliers.
Do we upload them into the Contact card section?
Or should there be a separate area in the Contact card for EOM Statements to be uploaded?
Because as more and more businesses go paperless we need to file these Statements somewhere.
    Thank you.

Hi Bridie, this is really up to the business to decide but as you've suggested at present an end of month statement from  your Supplier could be attached as a file to their Contact record - this way you can keep track and compare the previous months statement to the next.

Alternatively, you could look at creating a folder in the Files inbox that you could upload all Supplier end of month statements too. Really depends on your needs.

@Elle, in the opposite flow to what you're asking here. From a Contacts record you'll see that you can currently +Add from file library so it's possible to attach files that you have uploaded to your library to a contacts record.

  3. It would be useful to be able to make a payment on account for suppliers, so that clients do not end up creating spend money transactions and bills which duplicates expenses.
It's also better to be able to see if you are in credit with the supplier on the aged creditors reports, in the same way Sage Line 50 works.

Hi Suki, to ensure your accounts continually balance payments do need to be matched to transactions entered in your org. It would be possible to create an Overpayment or Prepayment to reconcile a payment in your bank account prior to a bill being entered. Then once the transaction is raised it can be matched with the credit from the Prepayment or Overpayment. As you raise a bill for a supplier where there is credit outstanding you should be prompted to see if you'd like to allocate this.

  4. I would like to see the integration with Gmail (and other emails) to the Contacts back. Not sure why this has been removed, but it was very useful

Hi Des, after careful consideration and investigation, this feature no longer provides the product experience that meets our standards at Xero. As part of a bigger project to enhance and improve the contacts overview page later on in 2023 this feature to connect Gmail and Office365  to contact in Xero will be removed - We have an article that shares more detail about this on Xero Central.

If you'd like to save a file to a contact record, you can continue to do so by downloading  the document from your  Gmail or Office365 account and uploading this in the 'Related files' in the top right of the Contacts overview page.

  5. It would be really helpful to be able to assign an existing Contact to a new Client. For example we receive multiple projects from Architects or Builders with different Clients. Each time we add the contact into a new Client's project, we make a duplicate Contact entry. It would be great to have the ability to assign an existing Contact to a new Client, and merge the duplicate Contacts.

Thanks for engaging community, Marianne. While appreciative of your idea - feedback for WorkflowMax(WFM) product are best shared by raising a ticket while on WFM - See more info through their website.
This goes direct to WFM specialists who can feed this back to the right product teams for consideration. To keep feedback through the right channels I'll remove your idea here, but encourage you share through WFM Support. 🙏

    Hey Kellie and Tracey :)

I've just confirmed for myself that this feature is already available in Xero.

When your contacts are exported, the ABN will appear in column AF 'TaxNumber' and the ACN will appear in column AL 'CompanyNumber'

If you're still having trouble with the export, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team for a chat!

  7. We regularly have to upload our invoices into client finance systems, Tradex by Causeway being the most common. It would save a lot of double handing being able to post invoices directly into their systems. There us a UK standard format developed by BASDA that would seem flexible enough to allow wide use. https://www.causeway.com/products/tradex/connections

Hey Phil, thanks for submitting your idea!

Xero has an openAPI, so anyone can develop an integration for it without contacting us, or providing documentation.

Because of this, we typically don't collect suggestions for third-party integrations here on Product Ideas. We'd recommend instead contacting them directly to discuss building the integration.

You can direct them to our Developer Centre to get started 😊

  8. I have one customer who pays me monthly and 30-40 suppliers who all accept payment on the 20th of the month following delivery. All I need from my accounting software is to fullfill my monthly GST sales tax obligations and my annual tax returns. At present when I apply to log in to Xero (once per month) as a small business owner, I am told to enter a 6-digit security code that is being sent to my phone. However, there is no field there to receive this 6-digit code. Instead I am given the option to try other verification methods.…

    Hey Hugh 👋

If you've set up MFA using Xero Verify, you'll be offered push notifications, as the primary verification method.

As you've found, the six digit code method is still available, but as a back-up method instead.

If you're using a third-party authentication app, you won't need to click in to 'Use another authentication method' to enter the six digit code.

Instead you'll be greeted with the code entry screen immediately, as pictured.

  9. Create a live google spreadsheet of my xero contacts.

To allow users to work with Xero alongside whatever else they use, it would be handy if all the contacts in xero are also stored in a google spreadsheet. Most of our records are stored in google and if a user updates a phone number I have to change it in our records and in Xero. Similarly, if a customer changes their relationship with us, I update our records and then change their contact groups in xero. Currently this involves lots of importing and exporting which could easily be replaced with…

Hi John, appreciate the thought and how some businesses are operating among multiple applications, however do want to open that we plan to continue developing contacts within Xero.

There is opportunity for interested parties to integrate with Xero through our API and more information on that can be found on our Developer community. There are also many CRM integrators listed in our App store that connect to Xero and could provide the system and synchronisation that you're after.

  10. Xero needs to expose the "Delivery Address" field on an invoice to the API. Currently we are unable to create an invoice via the API to include the customer Delivery Address field.

In the case where the contacts default delivery address changes over time, or the customer has multiple delivery addresses (and one Head Office address for invoicing/billing purposes), the "Delivery Address" field in the Xero New Invoicing function needs to be exposed to the API.

Hi Sheldon, appreciate your idea however we have a Developer Community where your idea will be in the right place to gather support from others interested in the API, also we can make sure this gets back to the right teams here at Xero. 🙂

I'll close the idea here so others know where's best to raise this sort of thing. You can always come back and share the link to the idea you create in that forum!

  11. Hi Support,

Could you add a small feature to reminder users to select tracking when they enter invoices/bills/transactions/manual journals?

I know we can always use 'Find & recode' to adjust, but it would be much better to have this reminder.

    Thanks,
    Felix

Hi community, appreciate the idea here.

However, it's not getting much traction overtime so I do want to be honest that there are no plans for a specific reminder for adding Tracking.

However, as mentioned, if you would like to bulk check or add tracking you may like to check out the find and recode feature😊

  12. When clicking into a contact profile, it would be great to see what accounts were used in the transactions for quick reference under the activity tab (currently, the columns are: Item, number, reference, date, activity date, due, and amount. It would be great to see an "account" column as well). This way, when entering infrequent bills that need to be coded to the same account, it is much easier and quicker to look up.
