export invoices
When exporting invoices from XPM to Xero it should by default export the client name, address, email address and contact number.
Currently it only exports the client name and postal address, and contact name, email and phone number (but only if that contact is NOT a client in XPM and only if you select that contact when preparing the invoice - forget the contact and you are back at square one.).
If we have an individual as a client in XPM, and send this client an invoice: currently XPM will only export an email and phone number if we add this individual as the contact on this individual's client record. but this contact cannot be the client itself, but a new contact (who will actually have exactly the same details). This makes no sense.
If we have a company as a client in XPM and issue an invoice, we have to again add a contact to this company with email address for the email address to export to Xero. I have say 4 companies, and the same individual contact for all 4, but the individual has separate email addresses for each company. we are then required to have 4 different contacts, and these contacts have the same email address as the client company we have invoiced. this simply makes no sense.
But to make it worse: add a contact Joe Bloggs with Joe's contact email address (say: jbloggs@jbloggs.com.au) so we know who the actual main contact person is, and add a second contact with the name Joe Bloggs but with the email specific to this company (say: accounts@jbloggs.com.au) because Joe wants invoices sent to this email address: you have to select the correct contact when setting up the invoice and sending to Xero - but the contacts listed both say Joe Bloggs (select the wrong one and the contact details in Xero get updated with the wrong details). You might think that you make the contact: 'Joe Bloggs (Accounts)' so you can tell the difference: but now all SMS and emails out of Xero include 'Joe Bloggs (Accounts)'.
The simple option here is: XPM should be default export the XPM client details (the client name, postal address, email address, phone number, etc) to Xero with the invoice. And if the user selects a contact when preparing the invoice, then the contact information is exported as well.
