  1. Have Xero automatically set the flat rate percentage to claim the 1% discount for the first year of registration. This would save time and human error is having to make a manual adjustment.

  2. We have been trying to match up a self assessment refund we have received for a client but can't find the matching amount.

    Would be possible to say add an extra line onto the dashboard which shows that year's tax return amount to be paid or refunded.

  3. When 'ignoring' tax notices (letters) and adding a note this is only available to be viewed while the date is available in the payment tab. It would be handy to have the Tax History including the body of the note be available in the Statement tab when the amount is ignored as it is when amount changes.

  5. The dividends are not sorted alphabetically in the return, although they are sorted in the prefill. Can we have the ability to sort fields included in the individual tax return worksheets, such as Item 11 Dividends, Item D5 Other work Expenses, and other similar fields.
    This will make it easier to check and compare, and it looks much more professional.

  6. Have a separate tick box to include/exclude the detailed disclosure (separate from other schedules).

    We would like to be able to print schedules where required but not show all of the detail for the asset and liabilities disclosure. Allow us to select which schedules get printed with the tax return, rather than the all or nothing approach.

  9. It would be useful if in the Tax Statements reporting data set, we could also see GST statement data (currently only Income Tax and SLS show) so that we can check for unpaid GST balances.

  11. I have recently started switching clients to the New BAS Experience - Full BAS.
    I run the Activity Statement and export it so I can check the "Transactions by Tax Rate" and make changes.
    I have noticed that when I click back on the "Summary" tab, the report does not automatically update (it does under previous BAS experience) and there is also no "Update" or "Refresh" button.
    The only way to get the report to update is to hit the refresh on the web browser.
    This is another case of removing functionality.

    When Importing from blue Xero to green xero - populating the tax return with data prepared on blue xero, the loan accounts with bank feed always appear in ASSETS section and no matter how many times we import that figure in the liability section, it appears as negative and thus unable to lodge

  14. Provide the ability to import/refresh the clients refund bank account number held with IRD into the Tax Return. Currently seems like we are having to manually enter it on the tax return. MYOB has this functionality and it's great, saves time and typos.

  15. As with Individual returns and Activity Statements, the contact name and email address are automatically populated when you press request signature. For some reason, Company, Trust, and Pship returns have to be manually entered. Besides the time, it opens up the risk of an incorrect address being entered. Please fix this small but meaningful step.

  16. Hi,
    In tax returns for clients that have a business schedule in their ITR, when an asset is fully depreciated, in the following year it disappears from the tax return and depreciation schedule altogether.

    Is there a way assets can remain on the depreciation schedule? It is very handy to have a full depreciation schedule for all assets, particularly if clients sell assets in the following years.

Recent new requirements from the ATO mean that businesses have to nominate new BAS and tax agents via ATO Online Services for Business, before the Agent can add them on their end (on ATO Client Services for Agents). This requires the tax payer to have set up MyGovID, gone into RAM and log into ATO Online Services for Business. The majority of clients have no idea how to do any of this. It would be good, if there was a way that they could nominate the Agent from Xero instead. Perhaps the linking of the Xero file to the ATO…

  19. Hello,

    I would like for Xero to automatically calculate the VAT returns accurately when switching from a VAT scheme to another. Currently, we need to manually adjust the returns to avoid any duplications caused by the transition. There is room for a lot of human error when doing this and I believe this feature is extremely important.
