Hi everyone, thanks for your continued feedback about managing working patterns for part-time employees.
We’re pleased to share that we plan to begin rolling out working patterns in AU Payroll later this year.
The first release will allow you to set a one-week work pattern for each employee. This pattern will automatically be used for leave and public holiday calculations in the pay run. At this stage, you’ll still need to update the employee’s pay template separately to reflect their standard working hours.
We plan to build on this foundation by connecting working patterns with standard hours in the pay run and supporting a broader range of working patterns. We’ll share more details as the first release gets closer.

It’s been a little while since our last update on this idea, so we wanted to check in.
We’ve reviewed your feedback and can see it’s continuing to gain support.
While it’s not on our product team’s roadmap , we’re keeping a close eye on it and will share updates as things progress

Our New Zealand entity has this capability and it is such an amazing feature and would drastically reduce payroll errors and processing time if it was available to our Australian entity too.
It is very jarring to work in Xero for our New Zealand entity with such ease and then return to our Australian entity where Xero feels like a primitive system.
