An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedI agree with this post, I use Xero for a number of not for profit companies, they are management companies attached to apartment blocks, they do not have many invoices throughout the year (usually quarterly or annually, some as small as 10 apartments) but are heavy on bills each month which is typical of this type of company. We have to use the standard package as a result of the number of bills, the companies are exempt of VAT etc, so we do not use many features of the standard package. I have asked Xero to look at this but they obviously do not really facilitate small companies.
Lynda Sutcliffe supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedIsn't it about time Xero changed the limitations on the starter package to allow small companies to use it.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedThe small companies also pay to have their accounts prepared on a monthly basis. So their bill is also much higher as a result. Xero needs to look at this if they want to attract and keep small companies.
Other packages are now available on a much cheaper basis.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedXero's starter package should be more flexible for very small companies.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedA number of small companies who will never increase business due of the nature of their business for example a property management company who looks after an apartment block. These companies never reach the maximum number of invoices in a given year, however may go over the limit if they invoice on a quarterly basis. Also the companies by their nature may have over 5 bills in any given month, they sometimes get 5-6 bills for electricity/gas plus other maintenance invoices in a given month. They are exempt of VAT so they don't use this facility. They are so small they need to be on a starter package. Can Xero please have a look at these companies as they are all looking to change due to the high Xero costs per month.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lynda Sutcliffe commentedVAT EU reverse charges in Global Edition of Xero, this is an essential part of VAT reporting in Ireland, can you please advise when this will be available for Xero. Clients are asking why this feature is not available.
I agree, my work involves the management of apartment block accounting. Bills for this sector are top heavy, however invoices can be on a 1/4 or yearly basis, most blocks have less than 50 apartments, some only 10. These companies are not-for-profit organisations and do not therefore pay any VAT. So we need the starter package with a yearly allowance for invoices and an allowance for more bills on a monthly basis, for repairs, refuse collection and some apartment blocks have 5 electricity bills alone bi-monthly. So a more flexible package for these companies would be fairer. At present we have to use a standard package for a small apartment block with less than 10 apartments.
If Xero are serious about being there for small companies, they must accommodate them.
