Hi community, sometime on since my last post we wanted to provide an update for your all here and appreciate the continued attention this idea is receiving.
We want to be upfront that at this time focuses for the team are in other areas of bank reconciliation and we don't have any current plans for developing the ability to import and export bank rules from an organisation.
We understand and know this is important to everyone that has voted for the idea and will continue to review and pay close attention to the feedback and votes here. When there is more opportunity for the team to refocus efforts here we will keep you informed of any progress.

Thanks for the extra detail, Ross and apologies I never rounded back on this here. While we also don't have plans for creating a report that includes all the detail from a contacts record atm I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here and we'll continue to track interest in this here. If any plans are made down the line I'll be sure to let you know on the idea here.

Hi,
Sorry if I've not made it clear, but I / the client are basically looking for a PDF version of what is displayed onscreen when you go into the contacts option in Xero.
Exporting the information to csv removes all formatting and has all the information for a contact in one line which makes it hard to read.
Also, once opened in Excel or Google sheets, because of the way uk phone numbers are formatted, usually with a leading zero, these are 'helpfully' removed as they are considered surplus, and you need to remember and format these cells to retain the leading zero before doing anything with the file.
We are therefore looking for a multi-line per contact report, which can be exported to PDF in the same way as most of the other reports in Xero can be.
Part of the issue is that there isn't actually a report which shows this information, so the only option is to use the export button at the top of the contacts screen which only has csv.
So rather than adding PDF as an exportable option from there, could a new report be created instead?
Appreciate you letting me know that you don't have plans to add PDF as an exportable option, and if the same is true of adding a new report then so be it, but at least I've asked.
Thanks
Ross

Hi team, we're pleased to share that we've released some more features, enabling more users to pay suppliers without logging into your bank!
For our UK customers we've made paying overseas suppliers easier with international bill payments.
Using open banking, you can now securely send money to 180+ countries including Europe (EUR), America (USD) and Australia (AUD). So you don't have to juggle multiple platforms or hidden fees. Whether you're paying a single bill or multiple bills at once, authorise payments prepared by your team and easily track which suppliers have been paid.
We've also launched bill payments in Xero for customers in the US, powered by BILL.
You can make simple, secure payments directly from Xero. You'll be able to authorize payments prepared by your team, and easily track which vendors have been paid. Plus, gain access to millions of vendors over the BILLTM network, and vendors…

Hi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been feedback and taken seriously by our product teams.
Currently, there are ways to record a bad debt in Xero, depending on your tax registration status and how you want the transactions to be recorded in your reports - We have help for this on Xero Central you can draw into.
We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality to develop a button to write off invoices or bills as 'bad debt'. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Hi everybody, coming across from the previous forums we know this idea has a lot of interest.
There is a way of using Xero's reports to accomplish what you're asking here and save the format so you can easily access and send this report to your customers outside of Xero.
Running the Aged Receivables detail report you can choose how many ageing periods you'd like to show and set the period to '30 days'. Simply Filter the report by Contact and Update to run.
- Once you've got it set up, save as Custom so you can easily access this format anytime
- If you deal with groups of contacts this also means you could Filter for multiple contacts to combine the view into one report rather than multiple customer statements 🙂
- Export the report to PDF, where you can send to customers from your email system outside of Xero
We appreciate…

Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding the ability to split batch payments when reconciling, and understand it currently takes extra steps to reconcile when a single invoice among a batch has been paid, or when there are multiple payments to the same entity for different invoices.
Being transparent, we don’t have direct plans for making this change within the foreseeable future but if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Silly question, but if you are short of resources (as the last sentence of your comment implies) then would it not have been better to use the resources you did have to implement something we are asking for, ie exporting and importing rules, rather than change things that no one really seems to have been asking for at all?
Xero could be such a great product if only you could / would respond to user ideas and suggestions rather than seemingly persuing your own ideas that no-one seems to want / ask for.
It's got to the stage where I've got ideas of how you could improve (ie like being able to duplicate a client or 'reset' a client - ie remove all accounting and / or contact data to 'start again' but I don't see the point in posting them as this time next year they'll still be getting considered!
I've got an introduction meeting to our new account manager coming up so I'll 'vent' a little to him as well - not that it will do much good!
