    Hi community, your ongoing interest in giving users the ability to reconcile without viewing account balances is welcomed.

    We understand why this level of bank permission control matters. As recently mentioned in my updates on this idea, while we do have current work for user roles underway there is more complexities to developing permissions within the banking space and this isn't on the immediate roadmap.

    As we continue our journey to evolving roles within Xero we'll be sure to share any progress for permissions in bank accounts with you all, here.

    I also agree with Gregory Gallyot's points this is exactly our situation. On top of having to do all the admin tasks ourselves as business owners or give our bank balance to junior staff, we now have to also spend time finding a new accounting system because Xero will not make this change that hundreds have requested. There has also been no response from them since March 2023.

    That really is a shame Xero. You would open up more opportunities for new customers with a simple "hide bank balance" user security setting or access to reports on a menu. We as a business with multiple Xero accounts need to be able to give our admin staff the ability to allocate payments to invoices & reports. But we should not have to give them access to our bank balance, this basically makes Xero unscalable. I find it very hard to understand how this is not a priority in your development roadmap.

    This should be standard for sure. Allocating payments to invoices or coding payments to the GL can be a junior role and we should be able to get our admin staff doing this without having to give them access to our business bank balance!! So because of this, the CFO has to do the reconciling which is a complete waste of her time.

    Why are we not even getting a response of any kind about this, there are thousands of customers who want this.

    There have been 145 votes on this, I am sure there are more customers out there needing this. Please stop changing functionality that works well already and make a much-needed change that will help NZ businesses. How can we grow if we can't have an admin person run reports and allocate payments to invoices for us without seeing the balance of the company's bank account!! This is just crazy!

    Still a major issue after all these years, not one change towards it, hundreds of your clients have logged it as critical but that does not mean a thing to Xero. Instead changes to the screen layout and the way you view data and enter invoices that are not really needed and were working functionally fine before are being prioritised, Listen to your customers!!! They are the ones funding your software!!!!!

    So important, Xero was initially designed for small businesses but for years now that it is being used by larger businesses this is an absolutely critical function. How is a business supposed to grow if the owner has to do every little thing unless they give confidential access to staff? Run ATB reports, and allocate payments, these are admin functions, not senior management!! Have started to review other systems now.

    This really is crazy, this setting allows you to view the account and the balance and all the invoices but it wont let you view the aged trial balance? A junior admin person who is doing data entry should be able to run a report to check their work.
