Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here.
To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i
Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference.
Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

Hi team, while we began work on developing the ability search and sort by tasks in Projects the teams focus had to shift to other priority work and we want to be open that this has been put down for now.
When there is the ability to pick this back up we'll return to share with you here.

This needs to happen please Xero. I would like the ability to manually arrange the list of tasks and expenses in Projects in an orderly manner that reflects our workflow - this functionality is avialble in the invoice/quote space already. As it stands now, Project task lists are all over the shop messy!

Xero? 3 years on.. and Zero response. This is basic workflow, surely this can't be that hard nor costly to implement - yet would save a bunch of unproductive time for a ton of users.... not feeling the love.

I raised a request a long time ago when this feature first was introduced. My submission doesn't appear to exist anymore.
This is a no brainer, and MUST be added as an option. The current process flow is backwards, The actual real life process flow is a quote first, then once approved, becomes a project. As the system stands now, we end up with a whole pile of "projects" in the system that where only ever created in order to raise a Quote, but many of these will never happen. Please add this function as an option.

Add this function please. At present- we have to create a separate folder offline on a shared drive with relevant documents relating to each specific project in Xero. If you could just add the ability to have relevant project files living within Xero against the project and instantly accessible in the one place to all users would.... make sense! How is it not already a feature? You can add an attachment to all the peripheral aspects of a project but not to the actual project itself! Think project Briefs, relevant project instructions, maps, imagery, communications and other documentation. Please add this function - I note this was raised in 2018.... You know what year we're in right Xero? just checking.... bewildered.
