Hi everyone, we appreciate interest from you all here in being able to adopt autosave into Quotes. Across the board there are mixed reviews from users that would, and those that would not like to see this enhancement across Xero features.
Right now, the current experience requires you to click Save on the quote before navigating to another screen in Xero.
We appreciate there are other contributing factors to the need here like session timeouts and internet connectivity.
Being upfront this isn't a feature we have roadmapped at this time, however our product teams are aware of the needs and interest of this here and will take this into consideration as they continue to plan the future of Quotes across Xero. If there are any plans to progress this we'll make sure to keep you all informed and updated through this idea. Thanks

I am literally open mouthed at the jawdropping incompetence of the development of this product. Thanks for more and more wasted time. As so many others have said, of course we all wish we had hit save, but that is not how busy, overstretched people work. We make mistakes, Xero is meant to, at phenomenal cost, HELP its customers, not actively hinder them.
Maybe it is time to find some professional software. Utterly incredible.

Hi everyone, we appreciate previous feedback on this idea, however there are multiple ideas wrapped up in the one here that I'd like to unpack a little and share some updates on.
Invoicing in Xero now has autosave, whereby as soon as a contact is added to the invoice it'll begin to autosave and if you accidentally move to another page when invoicing, you should find this in your drafts when you return.
While auto save is encompassed in invoicing we don't have direct plans for building this into Quotes at this time, we have another idea around this that you can join for any updates.
We know that some customers like to engage with their customers through other channels like Whatsapp and have an idea for sending quotes, and another for sending invoices that you can add your support and stay updated through.

This is incredibly irritating. My computer has a "feature" whereby a "gesture" will navigate to the previous page. So any time it decides I have done this, I will go back to the Quote home screen, going forward goes to a blank page, and I have to start again.
Surely the auto saving of work is really Web App v.000001, not missing from a supposedly advanced accounting product ?

This seems a really odd omission. If I am quoting for materials - I would like the ability to store a link for those materials - either for the client to see what they are, or for myself to be able to order those products - for example if I am running low on stock.

Absolutely laughable this is still not implemented.
Xero, why do you make this so difficult.
