Hi team, we appreciate and thank everyone for feedback. While we began a roll-out for the notification changes mentioned in my last update, as shared in some of the recent comments this resulted in a fair amount of noise for some customers inbox.
We've made the decision to turn off the recent notifications changes.
We'd like to provide more controls around this so users can set a preference, however this does require a fair amount of work and not something we're able to do right now.
Please know we have keen eyes on this idea and when we're in a position to progress this again I'll share news with you all here. Thanks

Agree with this one and, because so much of the Xero product works so well and is so much easier and more configurable that our previous platform Reckon, this seems like a big oversight.
We reimburse staff/volunteers via expense claims and pay them using batch payments/ABA files. On the remittance advices and in reports, all we see is “Expense Claim” (pulled from the Reference), which is useless to the recipient – they can’t see what they’re actually being reimbursed for.
Please allow the Description from individual expense lines (or from the claim header) to flow through to:
* Remittance advices (line description instead of or as well as “Expense Claim”), and
* Expense/batch payment reports.
Even an option like “Use Description instead of Reference for expense claims” would solve this.
This should be an easy fix as the data is already there, it just needs to be exposed where it is useful. Can we get an update from Xero as to when this is expected to come off the backlog and into a sprint?
