Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback and hearing how important client queries are to your Workpapers workflow.
We understand the value of being able to send queries to clients and have their responses and documents come back into New Workpapers. This is something we have intentions of developing, however it's not being worked on just yet. We’ll update you here when things progress.

Thanks to everyone who's shared feedback here. Over time, the conversation has broadened from the original request: the ability to create custom-designed workpapers, similar to Classic Workpapers, with tailored calculation rows, sections and mapped account codes.
This is something we're actively exploring and will share another update soon. We’ll use this idea to track that broader customisation capability.
Requests for specific worksheets are best tracked separately:
- Inter-entity loan workpapers
- Division 7A loans
- Motor vehicle private use and FBT
- Franking credits - add payment dates
- Investment income
- Profit appropriation/distribution
Tracking these separately helps us understand interest, needs and use cases. Please make sure to add your vote to these if of interest, or start a new idea for a new one.

New workpapers is unusable without this feature. Also, there is no ability to send queries to the client - which makes it even more unusable. We will not spend any more time looking at this, or could not even contemplate using this in our practice without both of these features.

Hi Chris, apologies as returning to your idea here and checking in with our product team I can confirm it is not currently possible to create Workpaper packs for individuals unless they have a Xero subscription.
This is something our team intend to look into longer term, and I'll be keep you updated of any progress surrounding this here. Thanks

Agree. Without this feature we cannot move over to the new workpapers. Is this an oversight?- to have the ability to create queries but not function to send them or collect responses.
