We need to bulk pay our large Capricorn account and can't include all the credits, which we have alot of. There has to be an easier way of managing credits and allocating them, making them clear when reconciling these accounts. A bulk allocation to a period range or ideally being able to inlcude them in a payment match as long as the total batch doesn't go in the negative for that supplier.

Trying to allocate credit notes is a very time consuming and difficult process. being able to filter the credit allocation by invoice period/date would be handy as we have to apply credits to the same period, ie September credits have to only be applied to september invoices to pay our Capricorn Account.
A search feature to find original invoice would be good too, if they were in the same period we would allocate to the original invoice, but we are scrolling though huge lists with the total allocation amount check all the way to the bottom, having this check off to the side would also be easier to see the balance.
we also have so many credits that the list has been cut off and we can't see them all on the one page.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on bulk allocation of credit notes, everyone. We understand that manually applying credit notes one by one can be time-consuming, and we appreciate wanting a a faster, more streamlined solution.
Currently, while we know it won't be the flow that suits all, it's possible to apply credit notes to multiple invoices for a single contact by opening the credit note and selecting the invoices to apply it to.
Atm, we're in the process of releasing a new experience for Sales Credit Notes. This work will enable us to develop changes like you're asking here longer term. However, the initial release is focused on developing existing features into the new Credit Notes experience. Once this is fully rolled out the team will have more capacity to consider enhancements like bulk allocations, however we want to be upfront that this isn't planned for the short term.

When allocating credits on account to a bill, it would be useful to be able to select a button next to each payment. also be also to filter by period so we can easily allocate September credits to only September invoices. we pay on statement and its very difficult to mass allocate credits at the end of the month once everything has been entered and allocated because we can't include credits in payment file.
would be great if we could include in payment file and allocation is done then as long as supplier payment doesn't go onto negative. we deal with a large amount of credits and xero just doesn't handle credits very well at all.
you cant even search for an invoice from the allocation screen if you need to allocate to the original, instead you have to scroll up and down the huge list with the total/balance all the way offscreen down the bottom of the list.
