Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to share feedback on this. We hear you—entering start and end timesheets takes time, and having a template would save some of this.
As a workaround, the Xero Me app allows you to copy previous daily entries to speed up the process. While this can help streamline things, we want to be transparent that a full recurring template isn't currently on our roadmap.
We truly appreciate you sharing how this impacts your workflow, and we'll be sure to update this thread if anything changes down the line.

It would be most beneficial to have the ability for Admin to create a timesheet template for employees and also an optional extra button for employees to add hours or subtract hours per shift/ employment period in the Xero Me app . Many employees have an employment contract that outlines their terms of employment, hours per week, start and finish times or shift start and finish times. Uploading this to the employee Xero Me App reinforces the terms of employment, eliminates disputes and payroll queries, plus also reduces admin time. Setting boundaries from the start for employees creates good culture and a cohesive work environment. The Xero Me app is for the most a good additional tool for employees and admin, it just needs some admin selectable templates and customisations.

This notification would be very beneficial. And while you are at it, add a selectable notification function that can be toggled and adjusted to suit that sends a notification to the employee that their timesheet for the pay period is due.

Thanks for your support and joining in this idea. We get the challenges involved in manually chasing up employees to complete timesheets each pay period.
Although it's not the integrated solution you’re looking for, you could look to set up recurring calendar events or using external communication tools to prompt your team members.
We want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for adjusting the existing notifications for timesheets.
We'll continue to monitor this idea, and should our priorities shift in the future we'll let everyone know here.

Setting templates when on boarding new employees or retraining existing staff creates good culture in a work environment. New staff know what is expected of them, less confusion and stress. The admin and payroll staff know that all employees have been given the exact information needed to submit a correct timesheet at the end of the payroll period. Little to no back end time lost when processing payroll. Managers dont need to continually school staff on what the company expects from its staff. Accurate and repeatable systems make a business streamlined and profitable!
