Xero Me - Allow timesheet templates use in Xero me App
Hi,
Our employees work standard hours each day, but in addition to this there are often additional items on their timesheets, such as overtime, trip and overnight stay bonuses.
The use of timesheet templates simplifies this process by automating the inputting of their standard hours, though due to the remote nature of their work timesheets are being submitted through the mobile application which does not allow the uploading of templates.
Can the ability to upload templates be added to the mobile app or a default template be added when creating a new timesheet?
Thanks for your patience, it’s been a little while since you raised this idea, so we wanted to check in. We've now reviewed this idea and have moved it to Gaining Support status.
To help your idea gain traction, please share it with colleagues so they can vote for it too. The comment section is also open for all members to share how this feature would improve their Xero experience.

I also had the same question, because the situation described here seems like a fairly common use case for employees who have predictable standard working hours but need to add exceptions such as overtime, travel time, or overnight allowances. Timesheet templates make a lot of sense for reducing repetitive data entry, but if employees are primarily submitting their timesheets from a mobile device while working remotely, having to switch to a desktop just to apply a template defeats much of the convenience of the mobile application. A default template that is automatically associated with an employee, project, or timesheet type could be particularly useful, since it would allow the standard hours to be populated immediately while still leaving the employee free to add additional entries when something unusual occurs.
I’d also be interested to know whether there is already a recommended workaround for this, such as assigning a default timesheet configuration to users or having the standard hours automatically generated when a new timesheet is created. Ideally, the mobile workflow would provide the same basic functionality as the web version for recurring timesheets, especially for employees who rarely have access to a computer during their working day. I also had the same question about whether template uploads themselves are technically difficult to support on mobile, or whether the better long-term solution would be to allow administrators to define a default template that the app automatically applies. Even a simple option such as “Create new timesheet from default template” would remove a lot of repetitive work and make the mobile experience considerably more practical. I’ve found the same idea useful when organizing other recurring digital tasks, including managing Minecraft-related project files such as Jenny Minecraft resources, where having predefined settings can save unnecessary repetitive steps. This is a standard function is so many other software programs. I just looked into this again and the only option offered by Xero is to use Xero Me via web browser - not feasible as an accessible option for most employees who are already using the app - and even if you do, the timesheet template is not then visible in the app or in Xero for the payroll administrator/processor.
Even an option for the payroll person to set them up for employees to then use via the app would save a lot of time.
Less window dressing - more functional improvements!

Adding timesheet template support in the Xero Me app would save a lot of time for employees who repeatedly enter the same standard hours every week. Features like default templates and automatic recurring entries could greatly reduce manual work and improve accuracy for remote teams managing overtime, travel, and bonus entries.
In a similar way, automation and customization tools are also popular in gaming apps. Many Roblox users prefer tools like Delta Executor because they improve compatibility, performance, and gameplay flexibility across different Roblox experiences. Efficient systems always help users complete repetitive tasks faster and with fewer errors.

It seems useful to have templates that can streamline repetitive tasks in Xero Me, especially for teams tracking hours across multiple projects. A similar concept exists in gaming tools where scripts automate routine actions, saving time and reducing errors. For example, players using Roblox can enhance gameplay efficiency with tools like delta para roblox gratis, which provides safe, optimized script execution: https://deltaexecutoor.com/

Users cannot see their timesheets created via the Payroll API in Xero Me.
This would be ideal as we have multiple rates and rewards for our employees and it would allow for employees to review what our timesheet system has automatically applied before submitting. Also having the ability to submit for approval before processing would be good for verifying the state the timesheet is in.

It would be good to have the ability to add timesheets to the payslips sent to the staff.
Our staff don't work set rostered hours and the times are entered by the Supervisors due to the nature of the work. When the employees want to check their pay, they haven't got anything to reference. Having the approved timesheets sent with the payslip would allow them to query their pay more accurately.
