AU Payroll - Self-Onboarding history log to show this was entered by employee
Upon approving an employee’s submitted details via the self-onboarding feature, we observed that the transaction history reflects the approver as the one who entered the details, rather than the employee who originally submitted them.
For audit trail purposes, it would be helpful to identify the employee as the original submitter, while maintaining a separate record of the approver’s action.
Alternatively, a feature that allows printing or exporting the submitted self-onboarding form (as originally completed by the employee) would also address this need.

Subcontractor CIS statement password protection
There should be a way to enable password protected CIS statements when sending out to subcontractors

AU Payroll - Medicare levy surcharge
It would be good for Xero to add a Medicare Levy surcharge option for a percentage in the Taxes tab of employee set-up.
Currently if an employee wants a percentage taken we have to manually adjust each pay run to ensure the correct amount is taken and and reporting to ATO is therefore done correctly.

AU Payroll - Calculate the length of service
Under the field "start date" have Xero automatically calculate their total length of service to the current date, and under the field "end date" once an employee is terminated, calculate their total overall service.

Payroll AU: payroll overview notifications for timesheets and leave to approve
It would be beneficial that under the payroll overview drop there would be number of notifications in every category. For example Leave 1 if there is one leave request and so on. Maybe a exclamation mark next to overview that there is something to action with. This way the payroll officer would spot the actioned items easily.

AU Payroll | Notification for employee turning 18 to request superfund
Can you implement a notification sent to payroll admin in advance of a team member turning 18, so we can prompt them to set up or choose a superfund to ensure compliance with payday super
5 votesThanks for sharing your idea to notify an employee asking for their superfund details when they turn 18. We can certainly see how this would streamline the process for you.
Whilst the system won't currently remind your employee, we can suggest a workaround as a reminder ask the employee for this info when they turn 18.
Here's how:
For under 18s, leave the superannuation line out of their pay template. When they hit 18, you'll receive an error when attempting to post a pay run stating that there's a missing super line with SGC contribution type from their payslip. This can serve as a reminder to set up or add a SGC line in their pay template.
Our product team will keep an eye on this idea's progress and we'll update along the way.

AU Payroll - Employee personal information - have editable field for information like Allergies, etc
More and more clients are collecting information on what allergies employees might have, it would be nice to have a field to keep this information on in Xero. It's is becoming a health and safety issue

AU Payroll - Suggestion for improvement: Include 'Description' field in Leave Request report
We use the description field to identify when staff use different types of leave that reduce the PL balance, but require tracking - Moving Days, Wellbeing Days, Special Leave etc. Being able to include these descriptions in the Leave Request report enables us to keep track more efficiently.

NZ Payroll: Allow employee email addresses to be reused
Please allow email addresses to be re-used. It is a pain having to do into a past employee and delete the email address because you cant re-use it when you set them up again.

UK Payroll: Add Download P45 link in the Employee list
Add the P45 link in the Employee row, like P60.
If you have selected one or more employees to download the P45 you then have to scroll back up to the top of the page to find P45 Download button.
I had to use the Help resource to find it, rather than it be obvious.

Dedicated Licences & Qualifications tab within each employee’s profile
A useful addition to Xero Payroll would be a dedicated Licences & Qualifications tab within each employee’s profile.
When adding or managing an employee, the employer could record items such as:
Driver Licence
High Risk Work Licence
Forklift Licence
Working at Heights
Confined Space
White Card
First Aid Certificate
Trade licences or other industry-specific qualificationsFor each licence or qualification, Xero should allow the employer to enter the licence type, licence/registration number, issuing authority, issue date, expiry date, and ideally upload a copy of the licence or certificate.

UK Payroll - Percentage-Based Payroll Tracking for Multi-Funder Allocation
Xero currently provides two tracking categories with multiple options, and also offers project tracking. However, these existing structures do not meet the needs of organisations that manage payroll funded by multiple external funders.
In many organisations, especially in the charity and grant-funded sector, a single employee’s payroll cost is often covered by three or more separate funding sources. These are not projects or internal cost centres. They are external funders who jointly or separately contribute to the cost of one employee’s role.

Payroll NZ: Ability to generate Employee Information Report
The report can show a list of all current employees includes basic info e.g. DOB, Gender, employment start date, job title, Annual Salary Amount, fixed allowances, Super rate etc.; This report will be helpful for internal HR reporting purpose. Otherwise, HR will need to collect info piece by piece & summarize it manually.

UK Payroll - Previous Payroll ID field to be optional or opt-out clearer
Allow previous payroll ID box to be left blank where the employee doesn't have a payroll ID. Either (1) the wording in the UK payroll part of Xero needs to be amended from "The previous payroll ID is unknown" to more clearly cover a situation in which the employee doesn't have a payroll ID or (2) the field should be permitted to be left blank. Xero Me - Allow timesheet templates use in Xero me App
Hi,
Our employees work standard hours each day, but in addition to this there are often additional items on their timesheets, such as overtime, trip and overnight stay bonuses.
The use of timesheet templates simplifies this process by automating the inputting of their standard hours, though due to the remote nature of their work timesheets are being submitted through the mobile application which does not allow the uploading of templates.
Can the ability to upload templates be added to the mobile app or a default template be added when creating a new timesheet?

AU Payroll - Paid break times
Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.
