  1. Resend a "Repeating Invoice"
    A repeating invoice contained an error, which we have already corrected, but I don't see any way/opc to resend the email with the corrected rep invoice.

    What worked for me was switching to classic mode, where I was able to modify and resend that invoice.

    I think it's important that you add those options to your new look before you change it, because they are necessary in my opinion.

    Hi Chris, you can resend an invoice that has been created from a repeating template by opening the invoice in the Awaiting Payment tab and clicking the 3 dots in the top right above the invoice where you'll see an option to Email.

  2. We have many suppliers that reject invoices if we send them direct from Xero. Hence we have to download a PDF copy and email it manually from our finance inbox. This process now takes 5 clicks as opposed to one click in classic invoicing. The new process is to click "Approve & Email", but then to exit this screen. Then move across the screen to the left top corner and check the box to mark it as "sent", then move all the way back to the right and click "Print PDF" and then wait for it to open in a…

    Hi community, today we released the ability to mark an invoice as sent when printing in new invoicing. Now, when you select to 'Print PDF' you'll receive a prompt to ask if you'd like to mark the invoice as sent - see in my image below. Thanks again for your engagement on this here 😊

    Hi Paul, if you're not using all your invoice reminders atm, you could set up a separate Invoice Reminder for Invoices overdue versus those due by - You can use up to 5 Invoice reminders.

    When you set up an invoice reminder you'll be able to set the email template that is used to send that reminder and it will only be used when that reminder is triggered.

  4. Old invoicing you used to select your "to" contact, then tab across to the date where the date would be highlighted so you could start typing a new date straight away. New invoicing no longer selects the date & takes longer if you want to manually type a date rather than having to use the mouse.

    Hi Shannon, we made some changes toward end of 2024 to improve the entry and selection of dates in new invoicing. Having just done a test I can see that when you tab from the To field it'll move across to the Issue date field with the date highlighted and you can easily start typing the date you need just like you've mentioned.

  5. Invoice and bill due dates to default to issue date.

    As above. Basically when you enter the initial date of an invoice or a bill, the due date defaults to the date you have entered. This will save additional data entry if your dates are the same.

    In the case of a franchise where Remits are sent via a supporting booking software, the invoice/bill due date is always the same as the issue date.

    Please default the due date to the invoice date once selected. but still obviously give the option to change the due date to a user specified…

    Hi Adam, there are a couple of options here including the suggestion that Geoff's provided. 🙂

    Right now, within Invoice Settings you can set a default for the Due Date, this could be based on the invoice issue date if you choose.

    It's also possible to set a due date for an individual contact within their contact record.

  6. When you are entering in date ranges, you used to be able to press tab once and it would jump from the first date to the second date. Now it takes like 7-8 times. This is an inefficiency that seems to have only started a few days ago.

Previously when making a payment once you added the payment it took you back to the awaiting payment screen (where it showed the name just paid and give you the option to send a receipt) now it takes you to the paid screen. This is a real pain when you are doing eft receipts for multiple clients.

    Hi everyone, completely understand the logic and why you'd want to be returned to this screen once applying a payment. Our team have released an update so you'll now find you're taken to the Awaiting Payments list once a payment is applied to an invoice in new invoicing. Thanks for all sharing with us, here.

  9. If I want to see all invoices for a customer, I have to go to invoices and filter in various ways to get the results I want. This seems counterintuitive. I would expect to go to the customer under contacts and be able to see all information relevant to that customer including invoices.

    Hi Nicola, you can see all invoices for a customer from the Activity tab of their Contact record. There are options to either view all, or just Invoices or Bills. From the tab it's also possible to filter the invoices by Status or other options.

  10. Description:
    I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.

  12. It would be fantastic to have the ability to add a web link or QR code to a Googe review page or other external link (website, facebook etc).
    When an invoice or receipt of payment is sent it would be great to follow this up asking for client to give feedback on service provided or to have them follow along on social media etc.

  13. We use Products and Services for parts that we buy in as well as what we make and sell and it would be great to have the ability to attach documents just like with invoicing so that original quotes may be attached for future convenient reference.

  14. It would be beneficial to be able to edit transactions via Xero Expenses.

    I find if a client has approved something to the wrong code you have to remove the whole transaction and redo it. In Xero normally you can Edit a transaction.
    I have checked with Xero and that is the only current resolution.

    Xero is usually so user friendly but this way is time consuming and slow. Thanks

    Hi Antony, when processing expenses on the Xero Me app there is the option to edit an expense that has been submitted on both iOS and Android.

    On iOS this is available from the Options menu, and on Android you'll want to tap the 3 dots in the top right of the claim. 😊

  15. when reconciling & uploading attached invoices/ receipts via app they don't show on xero desktop application in accounts transaction screen. It currently shows items as reconciled but with no uploaded documents icon.

    Hi Dean, from what you've described in behaviour it sounds like the files you've uploaded are attached to the invoice or bill directly.

    If you've attached a file to a Receive or Spend money or Payment directly when reconciling on the Xero Accounting app you'll see a file icon next to the transaction on the Account Transactions list when viewing the bank account on the desktop that you can click and will open a preview modal of the files attached.

    If you have attached files directly to your invoices or bills you'll be able to view the file icon next to these transactions from the relevant Sales or Bill list screens on your desktop.

  16. On the invoice template there is a lot of 'white space', particularly to the right of the Product Description, which frequently wraps to a second line. The Product Item code also wraps to a second line on occasions. The Quantity, Unit Price, Discount and VAT columns could be reduced in width to allow for the increase in Item and Description fields.

    Hi community, thanks for your feedback here. While we won't be providing the ability to manually adjust column widths our product team recently released a new line item grid that with other improvements, optimises the padding, text size and column width so it is more compact and you can see more detail without the need to scroll. 

    All fields will also now wrap, so you'll be able to see all information of your account, tax rate and tracking without having to click into the field.

  17. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi everyone, within Email Settings you can edit the email template and deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers.

  18. If you enter a duplicate supplier invoice via an email link into Xero bills, then Xero should advise/warn you that there is already an invoice in the system with the same reference/ amount. There should be the same warning that is given when a duplicate invoice is loaded into Xero bills manually.

    Hi team, pleased to share that duplicate detection has now been released and available to you all. Xero will compare the Contact, reference and amounts of bills and credit notes in your org to help identify possible duplicates. You can then go to the Review page to take action on any Unpaid bills (Draft or Awaiting Payment).

    While Paid bills will also be picked up, if you need to take any action or view bills you'll just want to return to the bills list to access these.

  19. Feedback on the Updated Email Invoice Template: Prioritising Client Experience Over Financial Details

    As a business owner wholly committed to providing exceptional customer service, I've encountered significant issues with the new email invoice template that I believe warrant urgent attention from the Product Team.

    1. Focus on Experience, Not Payments: Our aim is to immerse our clients in a seamless service experience. By prominently featuring payment details in the email, it inadvertently shifts the client's focus from the quality of service to financial transactions. Clients should have the option to review detailed financials at their discretion by accessing the invoice themselves.

  20. When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!
