AU Payroll - Long Service Leave for Casual Victorian employees
Requirement to have flexibility in how Long Service Leave is recorded for Victoria for casual employees who have taken multiple periods of parental leave and unpaid leave so small business is able to record number of weeks and entitlement due date and be able to accrue the entitlement of .80 weeks per year of service (and have that show on their pay). At the moment we are unable to show the employee the entitlement in weeks - only hours. The hours paid per week will be variable depending on when they take the leave so having this flexibility in Xero would be beneficial.

It is currently very difficult for us to accurately document our significant long service leave burden, and so our financial position appears more favourable than it actually is. We are also LEGALLY REQUIRED to be able to show an employee's long service leave entitlement at any moment. This is a basic accounting task required by Australian national and state laws. Please adjust the function to reflect this critical feature.

Given the increasing impact of workplaces absences due to Covid - Unpaid Leave should be able to be reported on like any other type of leave. Imagine if you had 40 employees, who all took "unpaid Leave" from time to time (when they got sick from covid and ran out of normal sick leave) ....... then how would you get a summary report of all the employees who took unpaid leave during the financial year and what this amounted to.
I would like to request that the Leave reports be enhanced to include this leave category.
Thankyou
