Custom Report - Ability to create formula with any column

The formula feature only appears to work for columns that are located to the left of the formula column.
Each column has a name, surely the name is the important element and not the position of the column on the report.
Can the formula feature be amended so that columns from anywhere in the report can be included

Another vote for the ability to add a column to include a formula to calculate on any column in ANY report - I want to create formulas on columns in the receivables invoices report so I can stop PDF'ing invoices just to allow me to see my custom fields that are in the footer in my invoice template - but I'm not able to add formulas to this report, and I'm unable to create a customer report from scratch that includes invoice number/date/contact and amounts!

I also think this should be standard functionality. Having to add an extra column to the left simply to perform a calculation seems silly. Please add the feature to allow formula columns to use any column for calculations.

It would be useful to reference precise cells in the formulas to avoid the need to export into xls to complete the report
