Payments - Use local time zone to calculate the Date from PayPal data feed
The PayPal data feed imports dates from UTC, as is.
For example in Australia there is a fairly large window each day where transactions will be imported and appear to have occurred the day prior. For other timezones it's likely the opposite.
In my eyes this is an outright bug/lazy coding. The response I received from support tells me they are aware of the problem, but it's just a known quirk! They suggested adding a manual adjustment to fix the balance when required. Ugh, I would feel dirty doing that, lol.
Essentially the only place the PayPal feed is always 'correct' is for those businesses located in the UTC/GMT timezone.
Please fix this bug Xero!

Agreed! Respecting the local time zone settings in any software is absolutely fundamental, especially for a global platform like Xero. It's pretty disappointing to see such a basic aspect overlooked.
No matter the time zone, all users should have accurate transaction dates that align with their local times. This is certainly a defect and a quality issue. It's a significant issue that affects the usability of the product.
Xero, we hope you're listening and working on a comprehensive solution to this problem. Lots of people are using PayPal and most people are not located in the UTC. It's high time to address this issue properly and ensure a truly global service for all your users.
