Email templates - Ability to format date placeholders
Feature: I'd like to be able to format the [Due Date] field when it's included in email templates.
Use Case: My standard emails include a line which reads "This invoice will be due for payment by 09 Oct 2023". I have to reformat the date to a more readable style every time.
Basic Outcome: Using standard date formatting you should be able to express the date as "Monday 9 October, 2023" - note that the leading "0" on the date number has been omitted, and also the inclusion of a comma after the month.
Ideal Outcome: The due date would automatically include the ordinal indicator after the date number ("1st", "2nd", "3rd", "9th").

Agree with David - this would help a lot.

I would like improved formatting for placeholders. I ALWAYS create dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY, unless I am using it for a SORTABLE field, such as a bill reference, where I need to use YYYY-MM. Neither of these options are available, and I certainly never want to format the month as a NAME.
Xero needs to support all of the normal date field formatting options as supported by Excel and Google sheets. such as d/m/yy and dd/mm/yyyy. Additionally, support for ordinals (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) would be appreciated by many users

I agree that the ability to format the due date would be beneficial

I agree the zero should be dropped

The leading zero on single digit dates is ridiculous, surely a swift bit of coding could remove this and make the email template look a lot more beautiful
