The ability to add a monthly Profit and Loss Graph to the dashboard. This feature was available in my old accounting software (Wave Accounting).

Hi team, thanks for the feedback we've received on this idea. We'd like to highlight that on the new homepage, you'll find Net Profit & Loss is a widget, on the widget you'll find there are a few different date selections.

I appreciate this doesn't quite achieve the monthly comparative as shown in the screenshot and we'll continue to keep this idea open for votes and share if there are improvements planned.

    Xero should have an option for showing a monthly P&L view of the past 6 or more months (up to the whole business year), as a widget on the dashboard. Displayed in the same style as the 'cash in and out' widget. I've asked support about how to set this up and I'm told it is not offered.
    Monthly P&L is such a basic and necessary requirement for me as a business owner, and it gives me a quick and reassuring view of the company's finances whenever I sign in. Not having this is frustrating as it's such a simple thing to display, and I'm no longer able to get that quick view without a lot of faff (now that I've switched to Xero)

    Xero already has all the data, your UX team just need to amend how it can be displayed. Having a 'year to date' view of P&L is far too blunt a tool to be useful.
    Please fix this.

    The last accounting software I used offered this, and I'm so surprised that Xero does not offer it too.
    I'm sure it is very simple to set up as you already have all the data, your team just need to amend how it can be displayed. Having a 'year to date' view of P&L is far too blunt a tool to be useful.
    Please fix this.

    It seems that some users are able to link to a P & L chart on the dashboard and others are not, which is weird, and I don't understand the inconsistency.
    It would also be good to be able to link to a custom report so that the presentation is consistant.

    Kia Ora Xero,

    In this 2022 Q4 update, it was nice to see the ability to show in chart the income and expenses by contact. It will be useful if Xero can have a chart for P&L. Users would like to see the distribution of income and/or expenses in chart format with the flexibility to show it by Categories or Groups.

    Better if this can be inserted in the Monthly or Annual report under Notes or within the Analysis of revenue and/or expenses.
