Snap, Scan & Auto-fill: Smarter Document Uploads in Xero ( optical recognition)
Xero’s mobile app makes it quick and easy to upload receipts or invoices – but right now, they only sit as attachments.
Idea: Use smart scanning (OCR) to automatically read the details from a photo or scan and pre-fill your entry fields (date, supplier, amount, tax, reference).
Why this matters for small businesses:
• Save valuable time – no more typing in details from receipts.
• Reduce mistakes – the system captures data directly.
• Make Xero even more intuitive on mobile – just snap a photo and you’re done.
• Keep everything in one place without needing extra apps or tools.
This would make everyday bookkeeping faster, easier, and less stressful for business owners.
