    Customers in the US can now opt in for our 'Auto Sales tax' feature, you can read a little more about it over on our US Roadshow Blog.

    To get started, head to Accounting > Advanced and select 'Sales tax' to start the opt-in process.

  3. Create the ability to send statements to multiple customers at the same time. Having to go to each customer to send a statement is VERY time consuming and labor intensive. Create a way to list the customers that don't have a zero balance with the ability to check the customers to send statements to. The user could edit the text of the email one time and it could be sent to all customers checked. This would help a LOT!

    You can send out statements to multiple customers by starting from the Sales Overview menu.

    To do this, select 'Sales Overview' from the Business dropdown, then click the Send Statements button. This will allow you to select multiple customer statements to send at once 😊

    It's already possible in Xero to customise the look and feel of your quotes, as well as invoices, credit notes, customer statements and purchase orders 😀

    You'll need to use an 'Advanced invoice template' for more in-depth customisation, such as including terms or a cover page.

    HI everyone, thanks for your engagement and support here. I know it's been a while since we updated and I'm pleased to be able to share the improvements we've made to add Invoice Number and Invoice Reference as optional columns to the Project Details report😁

    When you next open the report, use the 'Columns' option to add each of these detail. You'll also find you can now Filter by either option too!

    Hey community, thanks for all your support on this idea.

    Tax adjustment functionality varies by region, as this idea was raised relating to adjusting VAT in the UK I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

    To adjust the tax amount for a line item when creating a bill:

    1. Select the Tax exclusive option in the Amounts are field
    2. Click the + symbol next to the Tax Rate heading to show the Tax amount field.
    3. Edit the amount shown in the Tax Amount box.

    Our Adjust the VAT amount on unpaid transactions support article provides further information on this process.

    We have ideas for this similar option in the AU version here, and another for NZ here that you can follow for updates. For other regions, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need for this.

  7. It would be great to be have the option of a "related account" or "split" in the Account Transactions Report, so that you can see the other half of the transaction (opposing debit or credit) without having to click on the transaction to view the full detail.

    You can select 'Related Account' from the Columns drop down in the Account Transactions report to include this information.

  8. Add the ability to "Drag and Drop" files for upload. Currently we have to save a PDF to then upload from the computer - more often than not we have these files in emails. It would be ideal if we could drag and drop the file into the upload box

  9. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

  10. I can not fine any answer on the web or searching on xero to see if this is possible. I have tried the app but there does not seem to be an option. The xero app would be amazing if we were able to raise a PO. We store product from our supplier and being able to send them a PO at the time of picking would greatly reduce handling of the matter by not having to send an email for it to be raised.     Hi community, thanks for staying tuned with us here.
    For all those on iOS we're pleased to share that this is now live for you all just like Android - you can add Purchase Orders and edit existing Purchase Orders from within the Xero Accounting app.

    There isn't any ability to send from within the app at present - Start a new idea for this, or another feature you'd like to see in the Xero Accounting app. That way we can begin to get a better idea of the appetite of those, too! 

  11. The short-term cash flow projection should allow 2 weekly/fortnightly expense predictions (instead of just weekly and monthly predictions). The current absence of this feature currently results in incorrect cashflow forecasts (e.g. we pay wages every two weeks, so the timing of our wages prediction is always incorrect).

    Thanks for your feedback, it's good to hear how you're using short term cashflows.

    Predictions within Short-term cash flows should be generated for recurring amounts based on the last 3 months. 

    Our tool looks for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments - the dates, amounts and contact have to be fairly consistent each time for a prediction to be generated.

    If you do find you're not seeing predictions you'd expect to appear for fortnightly payments do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a deeper dive into why this may not be showing in Short-term cash flows. Thanks 

    1. There should be an option so that we can arrange bills/invoices according to suppliers /customers when processing bills/invoices just like in dext .And next option should be included in both archive and during processing bills/invoices.
    2. Split and merge option should be included when processing bills/invoices. 3 There should be a filter for credit note, overpayment and prepayment in archive invoices.

    In relation to invoices, you'll find when approving invoices you can Approve and view next or Approve and add another. 

    From the draft tab in invoices you can also select multiple invoice and use the Copy to option to create one invoice from a collection of invoices which might help when looking to merge. This way once…

    Hey community, just popping in with a quick update to let you know that export is now available in the History & Notes Report 🎉

    As part of an update that also released for Payroll history this week, you'll now see an export button in the top right corner of the History and Notes report, and can choose between a PDF or Excel export of your full, filtered set of results.

    Hi Kyle, the product team have been working on improving this area and have released a new invoice preview for the PDF. This will display any details you have included in the selected invoice template, so should display the customer's VAT/GST/Sales Tax number if you've included that. We hope this helps!

    From your description, it sounds like Tracked Inventory in Xero would accomplish this 😊

    Tracked inventory maintains a live count of your stock on hand, allowing you to report on stock quantity and value. You can read more about it here.

  15. With Customers statements it would be amazing if it could default to todays current date as it is always retrospective and eg today it automatically defaults to 31.03.2023 it would be so much easier to adjust back than forwards all the time .

The classic invoicing had the ability to add a new item or a new account code while creating the invoice, the new invoicing doesn't have this ability so you have to go back into products/chart of account, create it then go back to the invoice - this seems like a step backwards rather than an improvement

    Hi Paul, a slightly different process to  classic invoicing, but it is possible to add an item when using new invoicing. 

    When you add a line without an item code (description based) you'll see an option from the 3 dots at the end of the line that allows you to 'Save to inventory' meaning you don't have to jump out to Products & services to add each new item - see my example below🙂

    Hi Owen, this is already possible. If you're using an Android device you can click the 3 dots to edit the Invoice #, reference, branding, files attached, or currency.

    If you're on iOS you'll want to select 'Optional details' within the invoice - see our article here.

  18. Allow another user in your organisation to enter and submit expense claims on behalf of another user... "so you can focus on other important things" in Xero parlance.

    For example: company director can delegate the expense claims to the company secretary to submit expenses on the director's behalf.

  19. Business owners need to see the P&L and the Cash in one place. Please combine the P&L and the Statement of Cash Flows into one report so they can be viewed together.

    This is how it is in professional 3 statement financial models: P&L with Cash flows directly below.

    Providing a combo report would save many hours in combining them manually!
