Xero Accounting app - Raise a purchase order

I can not fine any answer on the web or searching on xero to see if this is possible. I have tried the app but there does not seem to be an option. The xero app would be amazing if we were able to raise a PO. We store product from our supplier and being able to send them a PO at the time of picking would greatly reduce handling of the matter by not having to send an email for it to be raised. In an age where phones and Ipads are becoming more common, this solution would seem natural and a very handy option. It would also mean when we go to a supplier and may add items we can raise a purchase order in real time with access to the prices which would help with matching up bills later on. It would help with any price discrepancies because it would be sent to them in real time.

Hi community, thanks for staying tuned with us here.
For all those on iOS we're pleased to share that this is now live for you all just like Android - you can add Purchase Orders and edit existing Purchase Orders from within the Xero Accounting app.

There isn't any ability to send from within the app at present - Start a new idea for this, or another feature you'd like to see in the Xero Accounting app. That way we can begin to get a better idea of the appetite of those, too!

    Yes it can be done but there appears to be NO send function.

    This maybe to prevent unwanted PO's being sent by unauthorised staff however, they (staff) still have the functionality to "approve" the PO and give a supplier the PO number so it makes no sense to NOT have the send button active.

    Maybe a send for approval button would better and the appropriate authorised people/person gets a sms/email to auth then the PO can be completed by the staff member, at the supplier saving time for all.

    The IOS xero app does appear to be able to create purchase orders now.
    Touch the "+" top right and "Create purchase order"

    Problem in android it does not auto generate the po number sequentially in fact I'm left guessing what po number to give the cashier scrambling through drafts, paid, unpaid etc...
    Otherwise it does everything else

    Thank goodness you're "working on it" Xero team. There has been hundreds of comments on this before (can't see them here now???) and no action till now.

    Any update on when iOS service will be completed?

    Enter purchase orders via Xero Accounting app so managers can track what orders have been placed.

    Generally these staff will not use computers in office and so orders would not be entered in Xero.
