  1. The "View all transactions" link from a specific product/service should display the Inventory items details report just for that specific product/service. Currently it shows all products and just for the current month. So really isn't doing what is implied in the link.

  2. OLD vs NEW XERO INVOICING

    Customer Name search - this is when adding customer name on customer/contact field when creating a new invoice

    In the old version, the dropdown displays the full hospital name along with the contact email address. However, the new version only shows a truncated name (around 26-30 characters) without the email address. It would be better to retain the old version feature for this especially when there are multiple contacts but different departments, as it was easier to find out whether correct department was chosen and not to make additional right click just to be sure…

  3. When writing Cheques or payments would it be possible for an auto infill/ recall of the previous payment made to the Payee/Supplier, this would save time if the details are always the same and only the amount may vary, it would ensure that the correct/same account is always used giving consistency.
    Should any of the details differ then these can be input as currently but an auto infill would save me an awful lot of time as I don't have a bank feed to all the bank accounts I oversee.

    Appreciate it's been some time since you originally started this idea, John - Just to confirm what you're asking here. Would this be when adding a manually applied payment to a bill? Or when reconciling in the bank account?

  4. Keep the CIS Labour Income Deduction line at the bottom of the new invoice format.

    why has it been moved to the top of the invoices on the new layouts??

  5. It would be great to be able to copy lines when processing spend money and bill transactions. I need to split costs from a single bill or credit card transaction to locations. Being able to copy data entered to a new line and then change the value if needed and apply the location would save time and limit tedium. Thank you

  6. Please stop Suppliers Bills from being published in Xero if the bill date is prior to the period lock date!!!!

    I only found out last night that Hubdocs will still publish a supplier bill with a date prior to the Xero lock date, this is crazy and I'm unsure why anyone would want Hubdocs to do this.

    If you could add the option in Hubdocs to stop bills from being published in Xero prior to the lock date that would be awesome as it will ensure the integrity of end of period reports.

  7. In the custom reports menu, if you are no longer using a report but may need it again, the only option is to leave it there or delete. There is no option to archive the report. It would be good to have this option in case you need to refer to the report later.

When checking information on the inventory screen it would be extremely helpful if you could click on the 'In committed quotes' or 'Quantity on order' to see the customer or supplier to which they are assigned. Sometimes I need to chase a supplier for parts but have to waste time trawling through the purchase orders to track down who they have been order from. Likewise it would save time to be able to go straight to the customer quoted once an item has been received.

  9. Is there a way to edit the email template when invoicing to add a standard email address in the BCC field? by doing this Trustpilot gets the email details to send out reviews?? i cant find an option for this feature

    obviously you would put your unique Trustpilot email address into the the BCC template field

    Hi Andrew, there's no way to set a default BCC email when sending from Xero atm. It may be something we look at in the future. For now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest for this here. Thanks

  10. Please make the “Save Button” omnipresent, so it hovers/tracks the page and wherever the user is working, while building Quotes & Invoices...

    I keep having to scroll up to the very top of the page, in order to hit “Save” - and found when moving too fast, i can accidentally skip back, losing changes, and then having to start again.

  11. Allow to change user name for a specific email, without changing the name on 'ALL" historical notes on profiles.
    Currently, if i have a new user/employee doing the same roll and a previous user/employee, with the same email/log in; if i change this user name, ALL of the notes for that email account log in get changed to the current user name, so it is difficult to make out who actually made that/those notes without looking at the dates to work out when that person/started or left the role!

  12. The current bill import functionality relies primarily on contact names for matching, which creates two significant problems:

    1. Unreliable Contact Matching

    • Contact names can change over time
    • Even minor differences (single character) result in creating new duplicate contacts
    • No fallback to more reliable identifiers

    2. Character Encoding Problems

    • Special characters (e.g., apostrophes in names like "O'Connor") cause import failures
    • This particularly affects common surnames and business names

    Proposed Solution

    Implement a hierarchical matching system for contacts during bill imports:

    1. First attempt: Match by account code
    2. Second attempt: Match by database ID
    3. Final fallback: Match by contact name

  13. I use Xero Me to upload expense receipts and assign to a client. I rename the photo of the receipt so that it should be traceable. The expenses are then visible when I create an invoice for that client. All good so far, however, there are two things that could be improved:

    1. There is no option to add the receipt file to the invoice when the expenses are added. Very often clients want to see the original invoice when expenses are charged back at cost.

    2. The expense files are saved in the fie library, however, the names I have given…

Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in Xero…

    Hi Lilly, with Xero expenses you can upload a copy of a receipt and have it auto capture the contents to create an expense through the app - See more on this here

    Is there a reason you'd prefer to email receipts to your org over the existing method? Will help when sharing back with the team.

We have 2 Shopify stores, one for our wholesale customers and one for consumers, however, unfortunately, we cannot connect both to Xero, which is extremely annoying and causes a lot of work for us behind the scenes. Connecting both will mean a more streamlined experience and make our Xero world much easier.

  19. The "Suggest Previous" check box appears at the very bottom of the screen. This poor interface feature required me to log a support ticket to find it -- after the feature was dropped from an update.
    The time needed for me to reconcile tripled without this simple feature. More time was necessary by logging a support ticket.
    May I suggest:
    1. software updates maintain the existing settings, and
    2. place the "suggest previous" at the top of the screen where Users have a chance to see it.

    Hi Joe, the 'Suggest previous entries' option has always been located at the bottom of the Reconcile screen.

    Appreciate why you may want to see this further up the page and we'll get a sense of the interest in this here.

Hi Community, we need to have the option to add a new line between the invoice instead to go to the bottom part of the invoice to create it, and then moving it where we need it, many times I need to add a line in a large invoice but to make it, I need to go down to the bottom part, add a blank new line and move it where I need. If we can just make right-click and add a new blank line where we need it, it will be easy to create or amend an invoice.

    Just drag & drop from the 6 dots in far left column ij the new invoice experience. 🙂
