Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in Xero…

  3. It would be useful to add possibility of using long figures of quantity when entering inventory transactions. For now only 4 decimals are allowed. On practice it would be great if up to 10 would be possible.

  4. We charge our consultants at a different cost rate per customer project and pay them a different cost rate per engagement. This is negotiated with them at the start of the gig and applies only to that Project.

    I want to set a different staff rate per project per staff member.

  5. There doesn't seem to be an option to delete the due date on sales invoices, my client doesn't want this to show on their sales invoices so it would be really useful if this could just be excluded

  6. The "Suggest Previous" check box appears at the very bottom of the screen. This poor interface feature required me to log a support ticket to find it -- after the feature was dropped from an update.
    The time needed for me to reconcile tripled without this simple feature. More time was necessary by logging a support ticket.
    May I suggest:
    1. software updates maintain the existing settings, and
    2. place the "suggest previous" at the top of the screen where Users have a chance to see it.

    Hi Joe, the 'Suggest previous entries' option has always been located at the bottom of the Reconcile screen.

    Appreciate why you may want to see this further up the page and we'll get a sense of the interest in this here.

  7. When importing bulk invoices, have the ability to upload discounts as a dollar amount and not as a %.

    1. ‘Bills to pay’ link goes to ‘Purchases overview > All’, showing all Paid and Unpaid.
      This should go to Purchases overview > Awaiting payment’? The way it is now doesn’t seem logical, when we’ve clearly selected ‘Bills to pay’ not ‘Purchases overview’ or ‘See all’

    Hi Larina, we appreciate our customers have different preferences for the bills page they would like to default to and this option is available within the 3 dot menu on the Bills page.

    From here you'll be able to set the Awaiting Payment screen as the default.

    It's not possible to do this for the Invoices screen atm so I've slightly changed the title of your idea here to reflect that specifically. We'll continue to track the interest here and let you know if there's any progress.

  9. Would like the option to send a request to an Expense user to submit an invoice/receipt for a Company Paid Expense that has appeared on any of the Company Bank or Credit Card Account

    There's no way to change the order of the customers owing the most to sort by overdue on the Sales Overview, Chris.

    The left column will show the total owing and the right column will show the figure overdue.

    However, from this screen you can click to Send Statements where you'll be able to view Overdue amounts high to low (if not shown automatically just click the Overdue column header. 😊

  11. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error

  12. I run a braille transcription business and must submit braille files along with invoice. I would like to send all from once source, Xero, rather than in a separate email. Attach .cdr (CorelDraw) and .B2K (Braille2000) files (other file types, too).

  14. The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.

    With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

  15. After sending out an Invoice and it has been paid, it would be useful if that invoice could have an additional status, indicating (1) that the goods have been "despatched", then (2) later as "delivered"

    Similarly, on a Bill, After the bill has been paid, it ships, and it would be useful if the bill could be marked as (1) shipped then (2) later as "received".

    And in both cases, there is an associated shipping document, such as Air Waybill Number and associated shipping agency. The AWB can be further enhanced to provide a link to the tracking service provided…

  19. When using the Xero app from your phone, to have the Purchase Order numbers auto generate the number.
    Currently, we have to look back and previous purchases to find the last used PO....unless you have a great memory. And then, while creating a new purchase order, we have to enter the new number.
    Currently, we also need to select as an optional detail, the order number. It would be nice if the app created a new PO number, sequentially from the previous PO issued.

  20. When the invoice has been approved and need to be emailed, the side by side view is great but I would like to see the invoice amount ex VAT, not the total of the invoice and it would be good to see all the body of the invoice as well, not just saying there are more items, you cant even click on it to see
