Ability to charge a credit card on file

It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

    I have to double enter everything if I can’t simply charge a card form a regular customer.

    totally agree and this is a function qb has and we need it to compete!! store on file and have link to have stripe do the processing when its billed.

    Absolutely a necessary function to be able to store customer credit cards on file to be able to charge when necessary.

    would be great to have this available. a place to store customer credit card details rather than have a separate app would be great.

    Do you have an area you can Store of Credit Card details for Customers.

    In Zoho books you've got the ability after you create a invoice you can click the 3 eliptical dots and click charge customer, then you could just manually enter the customers card details to charge them, honestly I really need this in Xero so that when I create a invoice I can just pop their card details in and it just gets processed and be done with it, at the moment I can get around by sending a copy of the email to my self and clicking the pay now link and entering the info for them but it's clunky

    When I was using Stripe, before signing up to Xero, it was extremely easy to set up a monthly subscription invoice where Stripe would automatically charge a customer's card WITHOUT having to ask the client for permission.

    After using Xero for over a year I have come to the realisation that I should be switching back to using Stripe only.

    Xero needs permission from a customer to set up auto-pay. 90% of our customers don't set up auto pay. This results in a lot of headache having to chase up invoices, and we have been losing customers who procrastinate on paying even though they have the funds.

    This has damaged our business.

    Please can Xero urgently implement automatic payment - without the customer having to approve this. Stripe, Square, and all the other platforms do it.

    I am leaving Xero, going back to Stripe, and returning to Xero if this ever becomes a feature.
