  1. It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

    In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

    Hi Claire, you can add an expected payment date from the Awaiting payments list in Sales. Appreciate it's not quite possible from the individual invoice itself atm so have slightly updated the title of your idea here. If there's any plans of adding this here we'll let you know.

  3. Supplier bill payments for South Africa for payments and debit orders that directly pulls from Xero, like being done in the UK with Crezco, which can be done with Paysoft Flow (https://paysoftflow.co.za/) in South Africa for example.

    Hi team, while there's not a preset option for end of this month you'll find you can simply type the number e.g '31' into the due date field to populate the date for the current month.

    Toward the end of 2024 we also made some improvements to the calendar picker within new invoicing so you can now easily access the calendar without having to click 'pick another date' which may also help some in the idea here.

  5. I generate a custom report for Project Timesheets and I would like to be able to rename the columns as sometimes we use slightly different terminology or we use the tasks in a slightly different way to work around limitations.

    e.g "Resource" instead of "Staff", "Role" instead of "Task".

    For some projects we enter a week's worth of time entries at a time, so they are dated at the end of the week, so I would like to change the column to "Week ending" instead of "Date".

  6. Increase the character limit for invoice and quote terms for the standard invoice template.
    Currently the limit is 1000 characters and that is not enough. Please please look into this! It is so important to be able to have terms in the body of the invoice and very useful to be able to use the terms section for this.

  7. I want to assign the customer to repeating invoices like software subscriptions that we pay for our clients. I have those bills in as repeating invoices but I have to assign the customer to them every month. It would be nice to be able to assign the customer on the repeating invoice and save that time each month.

  8. This is basic, if you want people to move to XERO make it easy to import data from existing systems. I have a huge amount of expenses to get into XERO and you can't use Bills because that is limited to 5 Bills per month!

    I pay for expenses so if the work around is use Bills import then remove the 5 Bill/m limit.

  9. Thanks for fixing Over payments in the new system - works great! - 1 adjustment - the account menu pops - UP not Down, and bank accounts are off the top of the screen need a lot of scolling, can you change to normal pop-down please? (like the Date Paid menu)

  11. Have the ability to rename the PDF file attachment so when you update your system to send Estimates you can rename the PDF as they always get sent as quote and this is unable to be changed or you can have the PDF file name anything you like just having the option would be nice

  12. I have noticed that when you are preparing to send an invoice via email in Xero that you can now add new addresses in the TO, CC and BCC lines. This is great.

    However, I have noticed that ALL contacts are available to add here. It would be safer to only allow the contact email addresses associated with the contact name on the invoice. It is too easy to add the wrong address and potentially send invoice information to the wrong client.

    If other people needed to do this, perhaps a tick box could be applied to allow ALL CONTACTS…

  13. Being able to see a map with the location pins for each customer and sort them by the various Xero groups, would be invaluable. This would enable us to easily visualise our national/global coverage to help better understand regional product usage. As a business that provides products to public locations, it would also be an efficient way to reference existing installations near to new enquiries for them to reference.

  15. Bills entered that are receipts/paid tax invoices (and accounts can't confirm they have been paid/what bank account they come from) should be able to be marked in awaiting payment with custom names instead of due dates.
    Instead of picking a past date to clear them from awaiting payment their should be an option to store it as a 'receipt' or 'direct deposit' to ensure paid invoices etc. are not double paid.

  16. Having an option to customize the details on the main "Expense Claims - To Review" screen (Business > Expense Claims) would be very helpful. A “detailed view” option, allowing key information to be seen at a glance, would streamline the approval process by reducing the need to open each individual claim. Specifically, seeing if an attachment has been added, with the ability to hover to expand it directly from the main screen, would significantly speed up reviews and approvals.

Hi Community, we need to have the option to add a new line between the invoice instead to go to the bottom part of the invoice to create it, and then moving it where we need it, many times I need to add a line in a large invoice but to make it, I need to go down to the bottom part, add a blank new line and move it where I need. If we can just make right-click and add a new blank line where we need it, it will be easy to create or amend an invoice.

    Thanks for sharing, Jose. While not a complete solve for what you're asking here - atm, once you add a line you can then move this to wherever you'd like it to sit in the invoice. 

    Just drag & drop from the 6 dots in far left column ij the new invoice experience. 🙂

    Hi Lilly, with Xero expenses you can upload a copy of a receipt and have it auto capture the contents to create an expense through the app - See more on this here

    Is there a reason you'd prefer to email receipts to your org over the existing method? Will help when sharing back with the team. 

  19. Recent changes have gutted our ability to operate under two distinct business names (Branding) under the same Xero account. Our Xero organization name and address is now included by default (and without the option to hide it) on Invoice emails and on Payment acceptance links. This was previously not the case.

    This completely breaks branding for us, and I'm not quite sure why this change was made. What is the point of having branding at all of we can't control what organization details are provided to the customer? Support suggested I open another Xero account. That's not an option -…

  20. Recently half of the emails I thought I had sent were 'unable to be sent'. I had no idea until I became worried why my usually reliable clients had not paid me on time. After looking I saw this message on the 'History' trail.

    My suggestion is that where an error occurs like this there is a significant error message signal e.g. a box comes up or things are highlighted in red and bold.

    Cashflow is the lifeblood of any business and if the system is unable to send an invoice this could have serious ramifications for Xero clients.
