  1. With Customers statements it would be amazing if it could default to todays current date as it is always retrospective and eg today it automatically defaults to 31.03.2023 it would be so much easier to adjust back than forwards all the time .

  2. The classic invoicing had the ability to add a new item or a new account code while creating the invoice, the new invoicing doesn't have this ability so you have to go back into products/chart of account, create it then go back to the invoice - this seems like a step backwards rather than an improvement

    Hi Paul, a slightly different process to  classic invoicing, but it is possible to add an item when using new invoicing. 

    When you add a line without an item code (description based) you'll see an option from the 3 dots at the end of the line that allows you to 'Save to inventory' meaning you don't have to jump out to Products & services to add each new item - see my example below🙂

    Hi Owen, this is already possible. If you're using an Android device you can click the 3 dots to edit the Invoice #, reference, branding, files attached, or currency.

    If you're on iOS you'll want to select 'Optional details' within the invoice - see our article here.

  4. Allow another user in your organisation to enter and submit expense claims on behalf of another user... "so you can focus on other important things" in Xero parlance.

    For example: company director can delegate the expense claims to the company secretary to submit expenses on the director's behalf.

    Zoho Expense has this feature, which we use for this reason:

  6. Business owners need to see the P&L and the Cash in one place. Please combine the P&L and the Statement of Cash Flows into one report so they can be viewed together.

    This is how it is in professional 3 statement financial models: P&L with Cash flows directly below.

    Providing a combo report would save many hours in combining them manually!

  7. We are a meadery that often sells mead in kegs. This idea would also apply to breweries.

    I use a "Keg" inventory item to track the physical keg shells. I use a separate item for the product inside the keg. So an invoice for one keg will show two items: the mead itself and the keg. This helps me keep track of our physical kegs on hand, weather they are full or empty.

    When a client returns a keg, they receive a credit note for returning the keg. In addition to getting their deposit back, this keeps my inventory correct.

  9. When sending an invoice it would be great to have the option via checkbox to also send a statement as an attachment. The idea is that a customer can see the new invoice and any outstanding invoices in 2 attachments.

    Hi Alex, you'll find this is now possible. The different VAT rates used in the invoice will be shown as subtotals beneath the total invoice amount. With the updates that our team have made to the send experience your customers will also be able to see a quick view breakdown of this in the email they receive 🙂

  11. in the APP can we have inventory stock levels show when you search for an item.
    Currently it only shows if you have xero stock and try and save.
    I have to use the desktop version to view levels

    Hi team, thanks for your input on the idea here. Now in the Accounting app you'll see the current Quantity on Hand for Tracked inventory items shown when you add an item to a Sales Invoice or Quote.😊

    Hi team, while not an Excel file type this is already possible through the Export, Import features in bills. 

    You can search and export specific bills from the list view, and from the New bill drop down select Import from CSV and drag & drop the file that was downloaded. 😊

  13. The image of the supplier invoice is very hard to see. I would like to be able to magnify it so I can view it properly as ATM I proceed to print it which enlarges it and then cancel once I see what I need. Not very user friendly.

    We've rolled out an update to the 'Bills to pay' screen this week that makes some changes to the attachment preview.


    Attachments will now open in a frame to the left of your bills, and you'll have the option to zoom and navigate this preview, or open the attachment in a new window.


    I've included a screenshot of the preview, with the navigation and open buttons highlighted  😊

    Hi Becky, have you explored Tracking in Xero? With Tracking you could use one of your Categories to list all the different cost centres in your business and track transaction cost against each. You'll find many of the reports in Xero can be filtered by Tracking to help you segment and get a view of amounts based on a specific cost centre.

    Hi everyone, super quick turn around here 😁I'm happy to share that the changes for invoice reminders have been pushed live and you should now find invoice reminder emails will include your company logo. This is pulled from the organisation settings, so if you'd like to revise your logo you can do this through the organisations settings page.

  17. For web orders etc there is no way of adding to the invoice that the order has been paid.
    So an option within the Due Date section to choose 'Paid In Full' would eliminate the customer receiving the invoice appearing as if it needs to be settled.

On the new reports the cents are always off and when you are reconciling the bank to me as a bookkeeper you want to cents to be included and not having to tick an extra button to say please include. I have noticed the reports have been geared towards accountants and not bookkeepers as all my reports have cents on them however the bank reconciliation report it's just doesn't make sense to me. Or if you could set in your set ups to always include cents and then this stays that way in the entire Xero file that would be…

    Hi team, with little interaction on this idea in sometime and based on the existing options that have been shared we are going to move this idea to delivered.

    To reiterate the options - you can set defaults for accounts, items and contacts to fill fields and save time when entering bills, alternatively depending on your workflow you may also find importing bills from CSV where you can bulk populate account codes for multiple lines on one bill handy.
