    Hi Melanie, would be good to slightly understand your idea here better - when you say you'd like to update the Tracking Summary report by month, would this be to add comparative columns or just run the report for a month date range?

    The Blank report might also be useful here where you can add Tracking columns with the Layout editor and set up the report in the style you're after. Once all set up you could then save the report as Custom to easily access this when you like.

  2. New Account transaction report - remove the totals when generating the report for a single account.
    The new report adds a report total at the end of the selected accounts which is a total of the debit or credit transactions for 'all' accounts selected.
    When only one account is selected it still shows a total - this is in addition to the total for the transactions on the account itself so it shows total of transactions, closing balance and then total of transactions of all accounts selected. It would improve the usability of this report to have the 'overall total…

  4. Hi there, would be awesome to be able to have a column in the detailed general ledger which has the quantities from what you entered in the quantity column when you reconcile the transactions. This is especially important when figured is used with Xero. As it takes a lot of time to go into each transaction and see what the stock quantities are to get the group total.

  5. Ability to close and lock a period for accounting and reporting purposes to ensure that, once figures are reported and published, those figures do not change. Any necessary changes (VAT rates, corrections etc) to source documents could be made but the impact should fall in the current, open period.

  6. There seems to be a lot of white space on each page. An accounting system really needs to show concise, compact, neat lines so it is easy to compare figures without having to scroll up and down all the time. I feel that Xero is more interested in the look of the screen, when really the information is the most important part of an accounting system.

    The important information seems to start half way down the screen!

  7. Xero doesn't currently have the option for reporting PAYG Income Tax Instalment on a monthly basis. Could Xero look into providing this option in the monthly BAS Activity Statement reporting.

    Appreciate your input here, everyone. Our team has looked into this idea to better understand the needs and complexities involved, however they don't have any concrete plans for it just yet.

  8. Enable payments to a GL account.
    It would be awesome if there was a quicker way to enable/disable payments to an account. Or have an additional column on the COA so it's easy to see which have payments enabled. Alternatively, be able to run a report on this.

    Hi Lauren, you could export the Chart of accounts to be able to view which accounts have 'Yes' in the 'Enable Payments column. It's also possible to import this option in bulk, however I'd highly recommend doing a test in the demo company to ensure this'll work as you intend when importing back into the organisation. 

    Would this achieve what you're in need of here? 

  9. Custom Reports: It would be great to be able to add a formula row in the custom reports that can display as a percentage. For example GP% and NP%
    Or just have the ability to add a GP% and NP% row.

    Thanks for your input and letting us know how useful being able to show formula rows as %'s would be when reporting from Xero.

    This is something our team have plans to pick up work for soon and for now we'll move to Under review, I'll return to share as this moves along 😊

  10. Universal search should include Unreconciled Transactions Too.

    We often search the amount of spend money or bill in universal search but we cannot find the unreconciled transaction through the Universal Search.

  11. Currently, you are able to pull the Contact Transactions Summary and ledger for only one contact at a time.

    If you can add the ability to pull more than one contact's transactions at a time, it would be great. It should work the same as "Account Transactions" where you choose the accounts you want to pull, just for Contacts.

    Hi Elizna, you can run the Receivable or Payable invoice detail reports for multiple contacts at a time. Is there something specific about the Contact Transactions Summary that's missing from these reports that you'd want included ?

    Appreciate the feedback for the General Ledger Summary report, Kala. 

    I wanted to confirm it is possible to reorder columns within the General Ledger Details report (like my image below). Is there a specific reason you'd like this in the summary too, or does this possibly meet the needs you're after?

Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

    Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions? 

  15. Reports - Display Multicurrency Original Values

    Allow Reports to display the original values for a chosen currency.

    Currently when running a Multicurrency report, the value shown is derived from the chosen Currency being exchanged from the BASE currency of the package. So if a ZAR base package has a €2000 Invoice in it, with a €2000 payment to a Euro account…. The profit and loss report, when run in Euros, will show that (today) as roughly €2037 after the back and forth conversions.

    Hi Richard is there a specific report you'd find this useful in ? 

    You can run the Payable and Receivable invoice reports in other currencies an org has used but good to know if there's another report you'd be looking for this in.

    Hi Charlotte, can you expand a little on your needs or use cases for your idea here? 

    A wage would generally be connected to an employee in payroll. Managing a loan is a little different and we have suggestion of how to do this in our help here, and when it comes to drawings and introducing cash to the business this would generally relate to a specific shareholder and would be recorded as Spend or receive monies, if you'd rather not specify the contact you may want to set up a generic contact that you could code these sort of transactions too.

  18. When I run a supplier bill activity report it would be HELPFUL if the description column actually contained the description of the invoices, or at least the start of it. For example, say a supplier is for office rent then I put in the description what period or month the rent is for. Then, if I run a supplier activity report I would expect the ******** description column to show me the helpful description I entered. Instead I get INV Ref: xxxxxx which repeats the xxxxxx from the reference column next to it. Noe useful at all, and the info…

  19. Would like to suggest that Xero adds an option for the user to be able to extract activity statements exclusive of any taxes on the invoices listed on the statements.

    This would assist calculating the costs of projects less the tax implications, especially for tax vendors.

    Hi Zolani, is there any reason you'd like this specifically within the customer statement? 

    Our Receivable Invoice Detail report may be of help to calculating the costs you're after, instead? 

    You can select to include Net, Gross or tax columns in the report so you can see the breakdown when the report is run. If you only need to view for a single contact you'll be able to add a filter where you can select the contact you'd like to run the report for. 

  20. Is there an option to show "Manual Bank Reconciliation Date" rather than Reconciled Date? The reconciled date is system generated and it does not mean much if the balances are out to start with. This would allow the user to know when bank rec was actually performed by a human.

    Hi Jo-Ann - when you say you'd like to view the date the bank account was manually reconciled would this be on the org's Dashboard?

    As a means of viewing this information at present - you could run the History & notes and view only Bank transaction items where you'll see the name of the user and date that the last transaction in the org was reconciled. 🙂
