Bank Reconciliation Report - Ability to run for multiple bank accounts at once
In the new format Bank Reconciliation report, can we please add a 'select' option for the bank account field, similar to the 'Account Transactions' report and how we can 'select' multiple CoA codes to look at at the same time?
I have a client that has 30+ bank accounts, and having to run the bank reconciliation report 30 times to check if they are reconciling/have errors is very painful.
123 votesHey community, just following on from Kelly’s update a few weeks ago, you can now add multiple bank accounts to the Bank Reconciliation report 🎉
In the new Bank Reconciliation report pack, you can now click ‘Add report’ to add in a new Bank Rec Summary report for each of your accounts - removing the need to run the report again each time you change bank accounts.
Thanks again for all your feedback on this one 😊

Reporting | Page Break - Preview in Xero Reports (without exporting)
Currently, when preparing financial statements or other reports in Xero, you have to export the report to PDF to work out if you will need to insert page breaks to keep all related content on one page, or to ensure that a heading doesn't end up on one page and the information on the next. This can sometimes mean exporting a report multiple times if there are multiple page breaks required.
It would be helpful if in the drafting stage, Xero reports showed some sort of indicator (i.e. a dotted line), so that you could identify where a page would…
69 votesHi everyone! Today we released the new preview panel to all users 🥳
Any report that you can edit the layout of now has a PDF preview on the right of the screen. You'll be able to instantly see how any changes you're making to your reports will be reflected (including page breaks).
We thoroughly appreciate the input and feedback we've received from customers which has helped refine this end result. Thank you

New invoicing - Enter key decimal point
The old version we used to be able to hit the Enter button whilst we are keying in the number keys to the right of our keyboard. In the new version we have come to realise that the Enter Button makes the decimal points pop up... instead of just being able to put in 50 for fifty dollars. I have been using the Enter key over near those numbers on the right since xero began and I am really hoping this is fixed ASAP if that is ok please
1 voteThanks for raising this with us in product ideas, Leanne. Appreciate it's been a few months since you first started this, however just coming back across and testing with the current experience it appears this is now working as you'd like to see here - When entering data in fields of a row in the invoice, if you press enter you'll move across to the next field. Also within an amount field like Qty or Price when you type in a figure and press enter this will move fields and round the amount to the nearest whole number, unless you have inserted a decimal point.
Let me know if there's anything you feel I'm missing within your idea here. Thanks!

Manual Journal - Keyboard to move to next row
I use repeating journal entries a lot and hence all the fields except debit and credits are filled out. Might be good to be able to use the keyboard arrows to quickly go from one row to the next in a column field and even be able to go from credit cell to debit cell by just clicking on the left arrow button.
2 votesHi Brett, on doing a little more testing you can use the Enter key and the up and down arrows to move to the previous or next row of the same cell 😊
Just make sure you press Enter first and then you'll be able to move, up, down, left or right using the arrow keys.

Invoice Should Remain in the Same Format Once Sent
When an invoice is approved it must stay in the shape of an original table where the ledger account column and the tracking category columns are present, (presenting this information in a line with a small font is ridiculous).
2 votesHi Melissa, coming across your idea here you may have already noticed that a couple of weeks ago we released an update to the view of an invoice so all details are now shown in separate columns (similar to classic). 😊
Thanks for your feedback and sharing how we could improve things for you, here.

Reporting - Bank Reconciliation by Date Report
It would be great to have the ability to run a report to show any bank transactions reconciled on a given date i.e any bank transactions that were reconciled on 7 August 2024, rather than clicking into individual transactions to see the audit trail
2 votesHi Beth, appreciate it's been a little while since you first raised your idea here. This is actually already possible with the History & notes report.
If you set the date as you need, then in the Search bar type 'Reconciled'. This will quickly group and show you a list of the transactions that have been reconciled for that period, along with a few details of the reconciliation.

Aged history report for suppliers
Transaction/summary report for suppliers but showing history in aged format, to be able to report on what we;ve spent with a supplier for the last 12 months - Each month!
Xero really need to look at producing a report generator like sage had, so we can create any report we need.
2 votesHi Les, the Aged Payable Summary or Detail reports will produce what you're asking here. In terms of setting this up for a 12 month on month view you can change the Ageing Periods option to '12' periods of '1 Month'.

New invoicing - Due in 10 days
Could you please add "due in 10 days" in the drop down on an invoice?
1 voteIf this is the common selection for due date you can set this up as a Default in your Invoice Settings, Denise. It's also possible to set this up as a default for individual contacts if you'd prefer too. 🙂
Alternatively, you might find it handy to use the shortcut when entering your invoices. You can simply type +10 in the due date field and it will set the date to 10 days after the Invoice Issue date.

Fixed Assets - Attach a file
Option to attach files to individual fixed assets
Purpose: Ease of reference, being able to attach files and documentation that related to an asset
681 votesHi community, we've now released the ability to attach a file to a Fixed Asset to all organisations using the new FA's experience. As mentioned in my last update, the 'Attach files' option is found at the top right when editing an individual asset. You can either select to Upload files from your device or files library, or simply drag & drop files to the upload modal.😊
We appreciate there are some Australian businesses using pools that are still on the older Fixed Assets experience and won't have access to the Attach files' feature atm. While we complete work to help move you all to the new experience I've created a new idea. Add your vote to stay updated.
If you'd like to stop using pools this is possible, however it requires you to turn off tax reporting - This does have impact on other aspects of your fixed…

General Ledger Exceptions report
General Ledger Exception Report
Getting new updates and new reports is fine but can you please keep this GL Exception report (old version) or else make arrangements to create the same report in the updated versions of General Ledger Reports.
This report is very useful and crucial for setting up work papers.
50 votesHey community, thanks for your interest in this idea, and for sharing your feedback on the new reporting experience.
We’ll be rolling out a new version of the General Ledger exceptions report, and you should see start to see it pop up in your reporting centre from today 🎉
Unlike the older exceptions report, this is a dedicated report. So you'll no longer need to navigate to the GL Summary to find it - saving you a couple of clicks!

online payments in invoicing
Would be great to be able to turn off online payments for specific customers.
Would also be good to be able to choose which online payment methods we accept or dont accept rather than currently having to take them all or nothing.2 votesHi Joe, thanks for raising this here. We've made some updates to how you manage online payments so this can now be done on an invoice by invoice basis.
If you go to your Payment service settings you'll be able to set up all the payment services you'd like to offer, then on the individual invoice you select Set up online payments so you can choose those that you are providing on that invoice.

Sales invoices - Tax on each Line item to show
Ability to have the tax amount show on each line item and not just in the total below or even better so that sales tax automatically shows within the line item amount as per on screen, but when Printed to PDF it shows no Tax amounts per line.
4 votesHi team, returning to the idea. To confirm, with standard branding you can simply choose whether the amounts shown on your invoices to customers are tax inclusive or tax exclusive.
In terms of default tax the Tax Amount column that can be shown on the invoice within Xero - it's possible to use an advanced branding theme and customise the DocX template to add the TaxOnLineAmount merge field to make this visible to your customer. If you'd prefer to not show Tax Rate or Tax name you can also use the advanced branding template to customise and remove these fields.

Bank Reconciliation - Sort and Filter
Add Sort and Filter to the Main reconciliation screen.
582 votesHi team, back again to let everyone know that the recent changes in Bank Reconciliation page have now been rolled out to 100% of users. 🎉
As mentioned in my last update this includes a bar at the top of the page so you can search and filter statement lines based on your preferred criteria, and the options to the right side of the Search enable you to set a date or amount range to help filter down your view.😁 You now also have the ability to view up to 50 unreconciled statement lines on one page - See our blog for more recent updates
We thank you all for your contributions in this idea. I know there are some that are interested in still seeing the ability to sort from this view, and I wanted to share the new idea that's been raised where we'll begin to track this…

Sales invoice - Adding lines to invoices
When invoicing it should automatically add more lines as required rather than having to manually add extra lines.
2 votesHi there 👋, like mentioned (Thanks Freya) when using new invoicing and you enter any data in the current line a new line will automatically be added below so you don't need to manually add new lines 🙂

Assign costs from bill to mulitple rental properties
I get a monthly insurance bill for all my rental properties. Would like to associate the cost of each to the appropriate property.
1 voteHi Coleman, this is possible with the use of Tracking. You could set up one of your tracking categories as properties and list each of your properties as an option. Then when you're entering documents in Xero you can assign each line of your bills, invoices and other document types to the property it relates. 🙂

Receipt Upload
Have an option that allows you to drag and upload receipts from desktop
5 votesHi team, we're going to move this idea across to delivered. As mentioned in my last update there are a few automated ways you could get your receipts into Xero.
You can;
- drag & drop your receipts into your files library, from here you could then create a bill from the file, or
- if you're using Xero expenses when you create a new expense claim you can drag & drop files from your computer directly onto the left hand of the screen

Account Transactions Report - Increase Volume Limit
Current volume limit is too low. I can't even run the account transaction report including all the account codes for the whole financial year. It's not ideal to run a few report and add together. Strongly recommend Xero increasing the volume limit for the report.
2 votesHI all, just looping back on my earlier update - Our product team made a recent recent change that has resolved an issue that was causing some users issues when trying to run and export the Account Transactions report. If you have any more trouble around this topic please do raise a case with our team of specialists and they can investigate to determine what's causing the trouble 🙂

Unit price receipts - Default Rate
When managing the finances for rental properties it would be great if a default rate could be set up against the 'Account' for rent payments so that the Unit Price ie weekly rent, doesn't have to be entered each time (52 times a year)
2 votesHi everyone, as previously shared - depending on how these payments are being recorded in Xero, a repeating template could be set up or creating a bank rule to help identify and create transactions for you could help with reconciling these sort of payments.

Create an invoice from the Billable expense report
It would be great if there was a way to create a new invoice from the Billable Expenses report.
2 votesHi Sharlene, you can use the '+' icon or enter /i in the search at the top of the screen to create a new invoice from any page. 😁

Reporting - Account transactions export format
The account transactions report when exported no longer has bold headings and is difficult to read - please change back ASAP!
2 votesHi team, we'll move this idea across to delivered. As noted in my last update exporting the Account transactions report to PDF contains bolding for all headings.
If you are having any issues with this I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team through Xero central so we can take a closer look into what you're getting. Thanks
