General Ledger Exceptions report
General Ledger Exception Report
Getting new updates and new reports is fine but can you please keep this GL Exception report (old version) or else make arrangements to create the same report in the updated versions of General Ledger Reports.
This report is very useful and crucial for setting up work papers.
Hey community, thanks for your interest in this idea, and for sharing your feedback on the new reporting experience.
Weāll be rolling out a new version of the General Ledger exceptions report, and you should see start to see it pop up in your reporting centre from today šĀ
Unlike the older exceptions report, this is a dedicated report. So you'll no longer need to navigate to the GL Summary to find it - saving you a couple of clicks!

Its good that you are improving the reports but for our firm we usually use this report for BAS preps and this is VERY HELPFUL. Can you please bring this report back? It will be good idea if there is an option for your new and old report. Thanks!

Really good news that Xero is working on the new GL Exceptions Report, and hopefully it will be available before the plug is pulled on the old reports 31/7/23. The GL Exceptions Report is an extremely useful report which makes it easier to identify problem entries and forms an integral part of my BAS preparation.

We also use this report as part of our BAS preparation so glad to hear there will be a new version released.

Removing the exceptions tab is really bad for my business as this step is an integral part of our pre-BAS lodgement processā¦. Please add it to the new report or at least extend the expiry date of the old version?

This is a crucial part of the workflow for completion of a BAS. Please don't remove it ... and particularly, please don't remove it on 31 July in the middle of EOFY.

I agree with the other comments on this report being critical.
I do not understand the constant need to change reports, especially ones which work well and serve their purpose.
Iād much prefer to see the focus on fixing issues which actually matter, (employees approving and deleting their own leave, leave projections and balance reports including approved leave, asset management and other financial reporting features). Rather than having to constantly subscribe to additional apps.

@Ross-Irving Thank you! It wasn't in the list of all reports (searched with CTRL-F) but I didn't check if it still existed all all by using their search bar :-D
Footling around, I also discovered that clicking on the three dots next to the new report in the full list of reports offered gave me the option to show the old version :-D :-D :-D

Search "General Ledger" in reports area. The old report will pop up in the list @Freya Pieroz

While we're waiting for the new one, could we please get the old report back so we can do a reasonable sample audit for the client BAS's we're currently preparing and lodging? I knew this report would disappear after EOFY, but it's not EOFY yet!

I need the general ledger exceptions report to check that transactions have been coded correctly by my clients before I run their March BAS. I would like to run their BAS's early, so that they can pay the tax office early.
Removing this report means that I have to check Each. Individual. Transaction. in the commonly miscoded categories, and I am sure to miss a few, which means that I am at risk of submitting an inaccurate BAS to the ATO and therefore my clients are at risk of being penalised.

Why would Xero kill off a report that they don't have a replacement for?
Are they going out of their way to inconvenience users or has some manager with rocks in their head just decided that that's what they want and ***** the users?
The old report must be maintained until there is a suitable replacement.
