  1. Can we drill down into the history lines by date to see the actual changes/edits or whatever was done for individual invoices? This would enable a clearer picture for future scrutiny.
    My client couldn't work out what had been done and neither could I . All the history said was 'edited' by an employee.

  3. Suggestion for Enhancing Note Visibility in Xero

    When writing notes for any invoice, bill, or manual journal in Xero, the notes are typically placed in the History column. However, this makes them less visible to someone new who might review these documents. If these notes could be added as sticky notes at the top corners of the page, they would be more prominent and could help avoid potential mistakes caused by missing information.   6. My Bank rules were deleted by someone. Xero doesn't have a restore function or the ability to see who deleted these.
    We need this for compliance purposes and the safety of our data purposes.

With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?

    Hi everyone, we wanted to provide an update of a recent change we have made where you'll now see the email address of the primary email entered in the To field is recorded in history each time an invoice is sent. You can read more about this change in my update here.

    As mentioned on that thread there are a couple of unique scenarios we are tidying up and I'll return to confirm once that is complete.

  9. I'd like an easy way to make a note on a transaction or other unique information without it having to be "found" in the notes and history at the bottom. I'm trying to give a bookkeeper/advisor a bunch of notes at once, and it would hugely helpful if somehow there was a way to send her something or have a "log" of some kind that showed my recent notes, with easy links to the transactions, so I don't have to do screen shots and send outside of Xero etc.

  10. The History and Notes in Advanced Settings does not include the action of Emailing (or Sending) an Invoice (or any other document), yet this action appears on the individual Invoice History.

  11. In History and Notes, that current 1000 transaction search you have is too restrictive given the limited search fields you have available.

    Due to performing more than 1000 specific transactions (e.g., deletions), I can't see the ones performed in the earlier part of the day.

    So obviously by being able to isolate a particular time period in any given day (e.g., 9am to 11am), that would solve the issue.

    In all honesty, limiting the search to 1000 transactions was ridiculous in the first place. Who came up with that number??!!!

  14. Every now and again we have an issue in a client account with someone's User Role being altered without notification.
    I can't figure out if the client is in there making changes without really knowing what they are doing, or if Xero is having a weird glitch.
    (the latter seems unlikely)
    It would be nice if we could pin point who was doing it so we could explain the hassle they are creating!

  16. Prompt if Changes have not been SAVED

    What I would like is, after entering data in the Notes (or Items on Invoice, Purchase Orders etc..) If there are changes to the Invoice/Notes (or any update screen) on the screen BUT if the user does not click SAVE then the changes are lost.

    If the invoice/purchase order/notes etc... have had changes and SAVE is not clicked, it would be helpful to have some sort of reminder available that auto prompts you

    'Changes have been made do you want to save these?'

    or something similar so any work entered, but not SAVED…

  17. Have a log or register of all emails sent from a Xero organisation with detail of content, recipients, senders, and date of send.

    Purpose: Validity when being queried by customers about a transaction, verifying payments and collecting debtor payments. Proof of interaction.

    Hey community, we get the vying interest in this and how having a copy of the invoice sent within Xero would help when following up with debtors, or in disputes.

    As many of you have pointed out, the best option that exists within Xero for now is to use the 'send me a copy' checkbox. This gives you a solid record in your own email inbox to fall back on. While it takes a little setting up you could create a filter in your email inbox to route these to a specific folder for reference.

    Another smart tip as shared here could be setting up a dedicated email address to file these automatically, and keep things organised.
