Hi community, another update from me here!

Our team have just turned on early access for the new preview panel in the layout editor for everyone that’s voted for the idea here.

You’ll be able to have a try now and if you have any feedback share this with the team via the Give Feedback button in the layout editor 😁

I’ll swing back once this is officially released to everyone.

Thank you for staying tuned with us through the idea here, everyone. We appreciate those who reached out – The team have received good feedback from their design concepts and are moving forward with work in this space.

A key enhancement within this will be developing the ability to view page breaks within Xero, so you can see how this will impact the report.

We’re a wee way off release but with work underway we’ll move the idea to working on it. Watch this space for more updates 🙂

Hi community, we’re aware of the importance of being able to preview page breaks in Xero Reporting is to you, and would like to test a design concept which we’ve come up with that may not be as interruptive to other workflows as initially thought.

If you’d like to help us to validate this, please Reply to this update, and our team will reach out shortly to connect and find a time that suits to have a  conversation. This will involve;

• About a 30 minute video call, during which we’d like to share your screen to demonstrate your workflow and interact with our prototype designs.
• We may ask to record this (which you have the right to decline).
• These sessions will be booked between 8 – 17 May

If we receive an overwhelming response, we may not be able to contact everyone, however I will round back to the idea here to share any progress that is made. Thanks!

Hi community, further to our last update, our product team have done more research and user testing with regards to a solution they had in mind for this idea.

However, as a result they found that introducing the ability to see page breaks, via a print preview type tool, would interrupt other workflows.

As a global business with many requests for our different regions and needs, we have the responsibility to carefully balance what we prioritise, and so we want to be upfront that this is not something we’ll be developing.

Hi everyone, we can understand how exporting to PDF to identify page breaks isn’t the most efficient process. Our product team have been looking into this idea and have a solution in mind, however they are cautious that introducing something new like a print preview that enables you to identify page breaks will add extra steps to other user’s workflows – Xero is used by many people around the world in lots of different ways. Therefore the team are doing some further research and user testing to inform whether or how they progress solving this problem. We’ll pop back here with an update once we have a clearer direction.
