  1. when i filter through Payable invoice Report, it only allows to select groups containing but not excluding certain contact groups. i have only suppliers under no group, Euros & DD and i wish to exclude these within DD group to be excluded to avoid double paying them.

  2. I would suggest to about the Contacts function. Currently, the system automatically merge the contact information with the same name first and last name when importing the contacts. It's very common that customers have same first name and last name. I think it's better for Xero to have diagnostic to ask if the contacts imported are the same before merging. The auto merging function is creating lots of issue when the customers name are the same.

  3. Add a section to manual journals so that you can make adjustments for a specific vendor (customer).
For example, our customer signed a contract for subscription for 12 months. I show deffered revenue and then every month I transfer part of this deferred revenue to revenue. It is very difficult to track whether all deferred revenue has been converted into revenue if it is not possible to keep records of revenue by counterparties, especially if multi-currency accounting.

  4. I am working with Société Générale (France) and we are not so lucky to have the automated bank transactions functionality. Our bank is combining both main bank movement and credit card movements in their OFX format.

This currently gives me the following error message in Xero : The file selected contains more than one statement which is not currently supported. Download a file with transactions for one account and try again.

My error message finds its cause in the fact that I have an export from the bank that contains both <bankmsgrsv1> and <creditcardmsgrsv1> transactions.
    Why does Xero not allow…

  5. Have the option to create nominal codes and assign them to CIS returns to allow for more granular review of costs. E.g. Bricklayer expense, Plumber expense etc.

  6. Add CIS Deduction value to the Aged Receivables and Aged Payables reports. In the same way Outstanding VAT value is an option to include in the reports, also include CIS Deduction.

Thanks for the response, Joanne. While it's not something we have direct plans for atm, we'll get a better of the interest around this here, and I'll share if there's any changes planned.

  8. Please can a QTD column be added on the Accounts Watchlist rather than This Month? A quarterly client is requesting this as they view the Dashboard regularly and this would be extremely useful to them.

  9. For the account transactions report please can you add more column options to include the contact/supplier name and entered date. This is helpful in analysing the transaction data further.

  10. On Drafts there would be say 10 lines which is actually all for the same asset.

Say I am building a product store. Using 10 different suppliers. Store, Erection, Floor, Building inside etc. I want to map all those together and register as 1 asset when done. This way the auditors see the whole store as one asset. Not 10 lines that I must show them. For instance "Thats the floor in that storage building"

  11. I noticed the new invoicing option seems to be not user-friendly as you can't edit the account name there is no option, and the classic is much better. I wonder why that is?

Hi team, returning to the idea here and rounding back on my last update. Currently it is not possible to edit the Account name or Code of an account from within new invoicing. You'll need to do this by going to the Chart of Accounts screen and updating this, there.

This is not a feature within classic or new invoicing. However, we'll leave the idea open here so we can get continued interest and consider as a possible future enhancement within new invoicing.

  12. I've accidentally created a Small Business Depreciation Pool in the Fixed Asset section of a client.

As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently remove or delete this, and it just hangs around forever?

  13. Project Summary Report always had actual hours and estimated hours on and since it has been updated this option is no longer available and that is 2 of the most important columns for us. Also the wording of the headings have changed and no longer match the Project Details report which is ridiculous. This report needs to be converted back to how they used to be.

  14. I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.

In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

  15. Journal Accrual or Cash Basis default setting and journal import column.

Default journal setting in is Xero is to post on a cash basis - apply a settings to select which basis is the default method (Cash or Accrual)

Import journals on accrual basis - add an extra column to the import template to state if the journal is accrual or cash basis or a default setting if blank.

  16. Addition option of show customer statement "actual" outstanding instead "as at" date.
Eg, Our customer ABC need us to furnish a Outstanding statement that as at 30 June 2023, and there is 4 invoice unpaid. Happen that 15 July 2023the customer pay the 3 invoices only. Customer request us to send the statement show the 1 unpaid invoice dated 30 June 2023 but it still shows 4 outstanding, how can we show the the one unpaid invoice in the statement.

Ideal additional option of show date 30.6.23 and show the one 1 unpaid invoice only. Kindly advice.

  17. The Inventory Item Details report does not show inventory items where there was no movement during the month. Therefore the report does not tie out to the balance per the TB for inventory. Can this be fixed?

Hey Louis - thanks for sharing your suggestion!

Understand that it's not quite what you're after, but it's worth a mention: The 'Inventory Item Summary' report will show all inventory items in your organisation, including those without any movement in the selected period.

I've attached a screenshot as an example, so you can check if it suits your reporting needs  - we'll leave this idea up in the meantime 😊

  18. Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
    It would be great help.

  19. Why are we limited to backdating GST Returns in Blue Xero just 12 months.

It's crazy to limit the backdating of GST Returns to 12 months for Advisors. In an ideal world our clients are well behaved and we only need to deal with recent GST Returns. But we often get situations where we need to backdate GST Returns beyond 12 months: ie A client comes to us who has been trading for 2 or more years and not filed any Tax or GST returns - how do we deal with that? Or if we are doing a migration from…

  20. Currently expense reports are not fit for purpose. You can't even order non-approved expenses by date or export them.

You need to be able to order unapproved expenses by date and by project/customer.

You need to be able to add description and project/customer information into the expense claims report.

Xero is **** at expense management frankly and with a few minor changes could be so much better. I should get a refund on my subscription for the wasted time.

Sorry to hear your're not satisfied with Xero Expenses, Jeremy. Appreciate there are a few things that you've noted that you feel could enhance your experience when using expenses.

We do try to keep one idea per thread to make it simple for community to understand what they're adding their support and to help share this back with our product teams. I've adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect exporting expenses. We have an idea for changing the sort order here, and  you're welcome to start new ideas for any other points you've shared too.
